📣A special Heritage Keepers Weekend for groups in or around the wider Burren region!!📣

Want to learn more about your local place and get funding to do something with what you discover?

Join us for a special in-person workshop at Burren Nature Sanctuary on 17–18 October to explore your local built, cultural and natural heritage, connect with others, and plan an action to enhance or celebrate your place.

Groups can receive up to €1,000 for an action + €350 for a field trip. 🙌 And you don’t need to be a formal community group: just bring together 4-6 interested adults from your area who want to work together on a local project.

Free to attend, including lunch and baked goodies from Siar!
📅 17–18 October
📍 Burren Nature Sanctuary, Kinvara
⏰ 10.30am–4.30pm both days

We’re delighted to share some exciting news: Heritage Keepers has received new funding from Rethink Ireland's Impact Fund! 🎉

This funding will help us support more primary schools and community groups as they explore the stories, heritage and natural environment of their own places - and turn that learning into meaningful action.

As part of this funding, we’re now looking for primary schools and community groups in Munster and Wexford to take part in Heritage Keepers.

Through Heritage Keepers, participants:
🌿 explore the heritage of their local area
🔎 research the stories and places that matter to them
💡 develop a project inspired by what they discover
🤝 take action to care for, celebrate or share their local heritage

If you’re a primary teacher or part of a community group in Munster or Wexford, we’d love to hear from you.
