Yesterday marked the end of an era for us here in St. Declan's as we said goodbye to Marcella after 25 years as our school secretary.
​Just after lunchtime, we all gathered in the GP area for a presentation to Marcella by our principal, Mrs. Walsh. Words cannot fully describe the contribution Marcella has made to our school community; she has gone above and beyond in her role at all times, keeping us all on our toes and ensuring every roll call was complete and accurate! A tight ship run extremely well. The office can be a stressful place with phones ringing, students knocking, and staff dropping in with admin issues, but Marcella always took it all in her stride.
​We wish her all the best in her retirement. We will miss her very much, as will her colleagues in the office, but we are sure she will pop in to see us 😊

Tomorrow is the big day as our class of 2026 receive their Leaving Certificate results. 📜
After years of hard work, early mornings, late nights, endless revision, “Will this be on the exam?” and probably more than a few moments of “I’m never going to remember all of this!” the wait is finally over! 😅

As you receive your results, remember one very important thing, these results are a reflection of one moment in your journey, not a measure of your worth, your potential or the person you are.

For some of you, tomorrow will bring the results you dreamed of. For others, things might not go exactly as planned. And that is absolutely okay. There is more than one route to where you want to go, and sometimes the road you didn't plan for can lead somewhere even better.

We are so proud of each and everyone of you and we wish you all the very best in the future! ✨️✨️
