Curragh Community College was one of the five post-primary schools to receive the Yellow Flag at this Year’s yellow flag awards. We would like to congratulate Curragh Community College for achieving the Yellow Flag status by embedding inclusivity and diversity in the whole school.

Curragh Community college is now part of the 146 schools, approximately 60,000 students and about 5,500 teachers who have engaged with the Yellow Flag programme.

School Uniforms Direct will be in the school on the 12th and 19th August. Generic items (white shirts/blouses, skirts, trousers) can be purchased from ANY retailer (Dunnes, Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Next, Penneys, etc.). Multi-packs from high street retailers are often identical in quality and are significantly cheaper.

Thank you Mark Wall TD for sharing this update. We are delighted that construction has finally begun at Magee Barracks. This is a massive step forward for the students of Curragh Community College, their families and the staff who have waited so long for this new school building. Thanks for your continued hard work on this, Mark! 🙌

I have today received an update in the new school building for the Curragh Community College at Magee Barracks, Kildare Town.

The construction started in June and the contract duration for this is for 22 months.

🎒 Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance 2026

Did you know?
The Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance is now open, and for the first time, eligible children aged 2 and 3 are now included.

This year the payment is:

👟 €160 for eligible children aged 2 to 11

📚 €285 for eligible children aged 12 to 22

The scheme opened on 3 June 2026 and applications close on 30 September 2026. Many families will receive the payment automatically, but if you do not receive a notification and think you may qualify, you can apply through MyWelfare.

Please see below, letter from the Principal regarding the new 2026/2027 school timetable. Please note, the new Friday finish time of 3:10 PM.

The letter also includes the dates/ times in August for the mobile school uniform shop.
