Kilkenny Violin Studio “Award-winning violin tuition for all ages — 30+ years teaching and performance experience. VIOLIN PROVIDED to all beginners.
🎻 “Fair fees. Real results.

Proven success.” Carl Rochford founded the Kilkenny Violin School in 2012 with the sole aim of teaching violin to pupils of Kilkenny and the surrounding areas. Particular emphasis is placed on performance and all pupils, (even beginners), engage frequently in public recitals and Master Classes throughout the year. Graded Violin Exams are under taken when pupils are ready for them and Leaving/Junior Certificate Music Practical Exams also undertaken here. From 2014, The Kilkenny Violin School will be a venue for exams for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Grades 1-8

The School also runs its own in-house violin graded examinations system with its own panel of external examiners and its own syllabus. This syllabus has been carefully designed from the standard violin repertory from preparatory to Grade 8 levels. See the 'Graded Music Exams' page! Lessons start with 1/2 hour weekly lessons for beginners to Grade 5 and 45 minute lessons for post grade 5 pupils. Preparation for Junior and Leaving Cert practical exams can be undertaken during lessons. Post Grade 8 pupils are entered for professional performance and teacher diploma exams offered by Trinity College London. These exams are only on offer from the Kilkenny Violin Studio

Lia and Lisa performing the delightful violin duet “Toad in the Hole” at Kilkenny Violin Studio.

Playing together is a lovely way for young musicians to develop confidence, listening and ensemble skills, while simply enjoying making music together.

A lovely performance from these two sisters. 🎶
