Enterprise Ireland would like to invite you to this year’s Student Entrepreneur Awards Virtual Final on June 11th, Friday at 12:00 noon.

This is the 40th year of Enterprise Ireland’s Student Entrepreneur Awards, which are co-sponsored by Cruickshank, Grant Thornton, and the Local Enterprise Offices, and are open to all third level colleges across the country. The Student Entrepreneur Awards offers third level students from all academic disciplines and courses of study the opportunity to realise their entrepreneurial ambitions. The awards will take place virtually on Friday, June 11th at noon and will be livestreamed from the Student Entrepreneur Awards homepage.

Founded in 2019 by Catherina Butler and Niall Phelan, The Naked Collective is an Irish carbon neutral start up beverage company that loves creating healthy, natural and functional drinks, designed to help and improve the health and wellbeing of the world’s consumers

Over the last year the Collective has grown from only the founders to now over 20 people spanned over the EU and North America. They are aiming to launch in international markets over the next 12 months. Sustainability is at the core of everything they do.

All their drinks are carbon neutral, all packaging is always recyclable or compostable and they were in the first 100 founding members of Positive, a movement of change-maker businesses making a Net-Positive impact. It combines the strengths of a purpose-driven community sharing tools and insights.

Congratulations to Ben Ralph and Tadhg Crowley, 2 UCD graduates which will represent Ireland at Red Bull Basement Global Final!

Ireland has a new team of student innovators in the international spotlight, as UCD Graduates Ben Ralph and Tadhg Crowley with their project DemRes have been selected as one of 38 finalist teams in the global Red Bull Basement program for 2020.

DemRes is a sustainable energy solution based on the problem that while technologies such as wind and solar are the key facilitators of the clean energy transition, they suffer with intermittency and a lack of grid scale storage. Making the most of these renewables while they are available is therefore crucial. DemRes aims to make a positive impact towards global climate action by enabling consumers to intelligently schedule their electricity demand over the course of the day via an app, thus reducing electricity consumption and cost and in turn, carbon footprint.
