Windy day 🌬, sea change 🌊When the winds are strong, we follow curiosity to the shore.
The children embraced a new world of rock pooling and exploration. A reminder that nature connection doesn't stop at the woods.
Siol na nÓg Forest School, we follow the children's curiosity, wherever it takes

🌿 Nature connection starts with the little things… 🐌🦋

A tiny snail. A curious robin. A beetle under a log.Or a quick chat with the horses on the way to camp. A moment of wonder. ✨

At Forest School, children are given the time and freedom to explore wildlife, get curious and discover the natural world around them. 🌳

These experiences build curiosity, kindness, confidence and a lifelong love of nature. ❤️

Because when children learn to love nature, they learn to care for it too. 🌱

Wild hearts. Curious minds. Kind hands. 🐾

🪵🔨 Tool Use at Sìol na nÒg Forest School 🌿
Learning to use tools in a Forest School setting is about so much more than making things—it's about building confidence, resilience, and responsibility.

Through carefully supervised tool work, children learn to: ✨ Assess and manage risk ✨ Develop fine motor skills and coordination ✨ Improve focus, patience, and perseverance ✨ Solve problems creatively ✨ Build independence and self-confidence ✨ Respect tools, themselves, others, and the natural environment

Whether whittling a stick, using a bow saw, or creating a woodland craft, every tool experience is an opportunity for meaningful, hands-on learning.
When children are trusted with real tools and supported to use them safely, they discover just how capable they are. 🌱
