Last Friday at Coláiste Ríoga, we celebrated the many cultures, traditions, languages, and stories that make our school community so special 🌍✨

Intercultural Day was filled with music, food, traditional dress, dancing, and shared experiences from around the world. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn from one another and appreciate the diversity that brings us together every day.

A huge thank you to all the students, staff, and families who helped make the day such a success. Your enthusiasm, creativity, and pride in your cultures created an atmosphere of inclusion, friendship, and celebration.

At Coláiste Ríoga, diversity is our strength and Friday reminded us how lucky we are to belong to such a vibrant and welcoming community ❤️

A huge thank you to Trevor Macken for taking the time to visit our school and speak so openly and honestly with our students about drug addiction and mental health.

These conversations are so important for young people, helping to raise awareness, break stigma, and encourage students to look after both their physical and mental wellbeing. Trevor’s story, honesty, and advice gave our students valuable insight into the challenges many people face and the importance of making positive choices, seeking support, and looking out for one another.

We are incredibly grateful for the impact today’s talk had on our school community. 💙

Well done to everyone involved in another lively and entertaining debate this week! The standard was incredibly high, with students delivering persuasive and well-structured arguments on the motion ‘School summer holidays are too long’. It was fantastic to see such confidence, critical thinking and engaging speaking from all participants - the future of debating is certainly bright! The Cuan Games😀🙌♥️

The students took part in a really fun and energetic day filled with a variety of activities including an obstacle course, bouncing castles, rugby, football, dance and bowling. Everyone got involved and showed great enthusiasm, team spirit and positive energy throughout the event.
It was a very enjoyable day for all the students involved.

A huge thank you to Irish rugby player Alan Quinlan for joining us and delivering such an inspirational talk on wellbeing and mental health.

One of the most powerful messages shared was that 1 in 4 people experience a mental health problem each year and if you’re not that one,how can you support someone who is?

We also discussed the importance of changing the narrative around mental health: creating a culture where people feel safe to speak openly, without fear of judgment, and where being brave enough to ask for help is met with support and understanding.

A truly impactful session that reminded us all of the role we can play in supporting one another.
