There was great excitement as we harvested the wonderful crop from our school garden. The children were busy this week digging up potatoes, pulling turnips, picking onions and beetroot. It was then time to prepare and cook the vegetables before the whole school gathered together to enjoy our very own Harvest Feast. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the rewards of growing our own food and working together.

We celebrated International Dot Day by exploring the children’s book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, which encourages children to be creative and make their own mark.

Inspired by the colourful dots and patterns of artist Yayoi Kusama, the children created wonderful mushroom artworks using bold colours, shapes and lots of dots. A fantastic celebration of creativity, imagination and the courage to make your own mark.

Our Junior and Senior Infants had great fun programming our Bee-Bots and Blue-Bots. They developed early coding skills while learning about direction, sequencing and problem-solving.

Robotics encourages logical thinking, teamwork, communication and perseverance — all while having lots of fun.

The children in the Junior Room enjoyed a fun leaf-printing art lesson, exploring the shapes, textures and patterns of leaves.
Using beautiful autumnal colours of red, orange, yellow, brown and gold, they created colourful and unique prints inspired by the changing season.
A lovely way to bring the colours of autumn into our classroom.

Well, the school gates are open, the playground is busy and Togher N.S. is alive with the sound of children again. It’s great to have everyone back after the summer, catching up with old friends and settling back into school life.

A particularly big Togher welcome to our new pupils. We’re delighted to have you join our school community. There are plenty of adventures ahead this year, with lots of learning, laughter, creativity, sport and fun along the way. Here’s to another great year at Togher N.S.
