H2O Heroes at Dundalk Institute of Technology has been named a finalist in the 'Benefitting Society' category at the 2026 UK & Ireland Green Gown Awards

This recognition comes at a particularly special time as H2O Heroes celebrates its 10th anniversary this November. Over the past decade, the programme has inspired thousands of young people to become environmental champions, empowering them to protect our waterways through education, action and community engagement. Being recognised by the Green Gown Awards is a wonderful acknowledgement of the collective efforts of our team, student volunteers, partners, schools, communities and, most importantly, the young people who have made H2O Heroes what it is today.

Congratulations to all of this year's finalists, we look forward to celebrating together in November.

We are incredibly grateful to have been nominated by our colleagues and honoured to be recognised alongside so many inspiring people and organisations working to protect and reconnect people with nature across Ireland.
