The Night England Turned on the Templars ⚔️

In October 1307, the Knights Templar were arrested across France.

But England did something unexpected. 👀

King Edward II didn’t rush to destroy them. At first, he doubted the accusations. He wasn’t convinced that one of the most famous military orders in Europe had suddenly become a secret criminal cult. 👑

But then pressure came from the Pope. ✝️
And pressure came from France. 🇫🇷

So England moved.

Between 9 and 11 January 1308, royal officers began arresting Templars across England. ⛓️

No battlefield.
No heroic last stand.
No warning that saved them.

Just royal orders, locked doors, seized houses, and men who had once served kings being taken away as suspects. 🏰

Some were held in local castles. Others were later sent to the Tower of London. 🕯️

The strange part?

England was not as brutal as France. But the result was still the same.

The Templars lost protection.
Their property was taken.
Their name became dangerous. 📜

And once a king decides your loyalty is a threat, innocence may not be enough.

That was the moment England stopped treating the Templars as holy warriors…

…and started treating them as a problem to remove. ⚔️

The Princes in the Tower: England’s Darkest Royal Mystery 👑 🏰

In 1483, two royal boys entered the Tower of London… 🏰

One was Edward V — only 12 years old, already King of England. 👑
The other was his younger brother Richard, Duke of York — just 9.

They were placed inside the Tower by their uncle, Richard, Duke of Gloucester, supposedly for “protection” before Edward’s coronation. 🕯️

But the coronation never happened.

Soon, the boys were declared illegitimate. Their uncle became King Richard III. And the two princes slowly disappeared from public view. ⚔️

Then… silence.

No confirmed grave.
No proven killer.
No final answer. 🕳️

In 1674, the bones of two children were found beneath a staircase inside the Tower. Many believed they were the missing princes — but even that has never been proven with certainty. 💀

Were they murdered for the crown?
Did someone else remove them?
Or did England bury its darkest royal secret inside its own fortress? 🏰

More than 500 years later, the Tower still has not answered. 🐦‍⬛
