We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of Dr Joseph Mooney, Trinity College Dublin alumnus and former postdoctoral researcher at the School of Engineering, who has been named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for 2026 in Energy and Green Tech.
Dr Mooney previously worked at Trinity with colleagues across the School and Huawei Sweden on the thermal management of 5G wireless infrastructure. He also completed an MSc in Entrepreneurship at Trinity Business School, supporting his move from research to real world impact.
Now based at Georgia Tech, Dr Mooney is co-founder and CEO of WattAir, a company developing technologies that use waste heat from data centres to produce clean water, helping to ease pressure on energy systems and water supplies.
Congratulations to Dr Mooney on this outstanding recognition.
