Wing Tsun Kung Fu - Blanchardstown were proud to award Liam Smith and Sean Mulder their 1st Higher Grades (Blackbelts) last night. Liam started training with us in 2004 and took a break for a few years to raise a family, etc. Sean started with us in our kids class around 2017 and both have been good training partners for each other over the last few years. They have also been very generous with their time and help teach others in class.

While they have been continually assessed over the last few months, last night was their official examination. They were tested on their Siu Nim Tau and Cham Kiu forms, Chi Sau sections 1 - 4 and sparring. Both passed with flying colours.

They will now start working on the material for the 2nd Higher Grade which is the Biu Tze form and Chi Sau sections 5 - 7. Congratulations again Liam and Sean.

A big congratulations to Sean Coogan on being tested for and awarded his 12th student grade last night. He was examined on his Siu Nim Tau and Cham Kiu forms, Chi Sau, non striking restraint and knife vs knife techniques. This is the last student grade and he will now work on the material for the 1st Higher (Blackbelt) Grade over the next year or two.

Classes are at 7.30pm each Wednesday and beginners are always welcome.

A big congratulations to Billy Markey who tonight was awarded his first student grade in Wing Tsun Kung Fu. Billy has been training with us for the last few months and while he has years of experience in other martial arts, he was able to “empty his cup” and start Wing Tsun from zero. He has been able to “free himself from his own force” by relaxing his antagonistic muscles and all of his movements have become more fluid and smooth.

His progress (along with everyone else’s) is down to three things.
1. A hardworking student.
2. Dedicated instructors.
3. The simple logic of Wing Tsun itself.

Classes take place each Wednesday at 7.30pm, cost €10 each and beginners are always welcome.

We would like to say a big congratulations to Patricia, Josh, Enea and Alexs on being examined for and awarded their first student grade in Wing Tsun Kung Fu last night. All were examined on the 1st third of the Siu Nim Tau form and 1st Lat Sau program and did great.

Classes are every Wednesday at 7.30pm and beginners are always welcome. Classes are €10 each and the first class is free.

Happy new year to everyone. Wing Tsun Kung Fu classes in Blanchardstown will resume tomorrow night at 7.30pm. We have made a slight change to our timetable and beginners (those working on the 1st and 2nd student program) will train for one hour until 8.30pm. They will work on the following.
* Siu Nim Tau
* Footwork
* Punching
* Techniques
* Lat Sau drills

Intermediate/advanced students (those working on the 3rd student program and upwards) will train for an additional hour until 9.30pm. They will additionally work on,
* Cham Kiu
* Biu Tze (where applicable)
* Chi Sau
* Padwork
* Controlled sparring

Beginners and returning students are always welcome.

Last night in Blanchardstown we had our final class of 2024. We also examined some of our students who were ready to grade. Well done to Sean Coogan on his 9th student grade as well Arthur and Cian on their 2nd student grade. All have worked very hard. We would like to thank everyone for their hard work throughout the year. We wish you all a happy Christmas and look forward to seeing you for more training in the new year. 🙂

We had a good class tonight focusing on the use of the Lan Sau as an entry point and from there, reactions trained in Chi Sau took over. The next class is 7.30pm on Wednesday. Beginners are always welcome. If you are interested in what we do, please "Like" our page.🤙
