Donations to the 2027 International Kodály Society Symposium are open, with a range of options and rewards for donors including Kodály Ireland membership, free entry to Symposium performances, invitation to the Friends and Donors drinks reception and more.

Your donations help to make the Symposium a truly memorable occasion, supporting concert performances, catering, conference facilities and more. You can also choose to fund a student or educator's attendance at the Symposium.

All donor options are outlined at www.ikssymposium2027.com where you can also submit a proposal to present, or join the mailing list!

With only 3 days to go swipe to see one of our brilliant workshop tutors, Kevin Boushel!

Dr Kevin Boushel is an award-winning conductor, singer and researcher. He is the founding director of the Dublin City University Chamber Choir and the musical director of Dublin’s historic Culwick Choral Society. He was the winner of the adjudicator’s prize and singers’ prize at the 2026 Feis Ceoil choral conducting competition. From 2022–24 he served as Associate Conductor of the UCD School of Music.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree at Maynooth University, he completed the diploma course in Advanced Choral Conducting at the Kodály Institute in Hungary and graduated with an MA in Choral Studies from DCU. He completed his PhD at DCU as a Government of Ireland Scholar. His research has been published in the Choral Journal, Dirigo, RTÉ Brainstorm and Spéis Bulletin, and he has spoken at annual meetings of the American Choral Directors’ Association, European Association for Music in Schools, Society for Music Theory, Royal Musical Association, and Society for Musicology in Ireland.
He has participated in conducting masterclasses with renowned international artists, including Eimear Noone, Eric Whitacre and Zoltán Pad. As a singer, Kevin has toured internationally with the Palestrina Choir, the New Liszt Academy Choir, and Fir an Chladaigh. He previously served as a member of the Executive Committee of Conradh na Gaeilge (The Gaelic League) and presented a weekly choral music programme on Dublin’s Raidió na Life 106.4FM.
