I spoke to a Mom this week about her daughter.

She’s bright.
Capable.
Very smart.

But she procrastinates. And doesn’t perform in exams.

She freezes on essays.
She never finishes exam papers.
She second-guesses every answer.
Mocks are coming… and she’s panicking she won’t complete the paper.

Her Dad says it’s a kind road block.

It’s perfectionism + anxiety + executive function overload.

Telling her to ā€œjust practise moreā€ won’t fix it.
Pointing out what she didn’t finish won’t build confidence.

What she needs is:

• Time
• Empathy
• Positive acknowledgement
• Permission to be imperfect

Sometimes two or three crappy pages are enough.
Sometimes 60% is a win.
Sometimes being ā€œaverageā€ is actually okay.

We live in a world where teens feel constantly judged —
by points, grades, comparison, social media.

For many ADHD girls, procrastination isn’t defiance.

It’s fear.

And fear shrinks when someone believes in them.

That’s what I try to do when I coach much students.
