Here are some quick revision notes to help you with Computer Systems theory for the mocks:

To all 6th year Computer Science Leaving Cert students: The questions below will help you clearly define your project:

In one sentence, describe the real-world forest process your project simulates.

What real environment data are you monitoring?

How is each of these environmental data inputted into the system - sensors? Buttons to simulate this data?

What decisions are made based on the inputs?

What is your output?

How is the data from your embedded system used in your Python model?

For the Micro:bit keep it simple :

For parents of 5th & 6th year students taking Leaving Cert Computer Science, the 2026 Coursework Project is worth 30% of the final exam marks (90 marks).

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲?
Students have 12 school weeks (Dec–March) to build:

• A working embedded system
• A Python-based computer model
• A project linked to real-world environmental issues
