There is a theory called Personality Construct Theory, in this theory they say how we organise, interpret, and predict our reality effectively informs our personality.
In this theory, there is essentially a dichotomy. Most people will have little filters like an organisational hierarchy in which they actually predict, or interpret, or understand someone, so when you see someone, you make a judgement as to whether they are smart, stupid, good, bad, friendly, unfriendly? Now these are useful constructs to help you to navigate through the world, the problem is they produce cognitive biases as well, so you end up getting what you are looking for, or getting what you think you see.
What are your criteria for assessment? What are the lens you put on you when you’re looking out at a person, and are these the most useful lenses?

Have you taken the time to ask yourself, what would happen if you could only succeed? To imagine how good it would be if you allow yourself to become more successful, to allow yourself to become happier within yourself, to begin to see yourself achieving your goals. To be able to draw them towards yourself like a magnetic draws bits of iron towards itself.

Many people are drawn to NLP because they hear of a powerful or life changing intervention that happened to one of their colleagues through NLP. Very often these people then focus primarily on the techniques of NLP, and there are plenty of hugely useful techniques to choose from. However, behind that there is something just as important, attitude. NLP is an attitude, to look at life as an opportunity to live life more effectively. NLP is pragmatic thinking with a positive focus. It's not always about what's the best thing to do in a situation, but rather what is the most effective thing to do. This is really what NLP is about, beginning to look at the attitude of effectiveness!

Sometimes when we look back into our past, we tend to focus on the negative. Sometimes we can spiral down into a cycle of traumas, health issues, accidents, and fights. However, as you probably know the more you do that, the worse you start to feel.
In NLP, we say the best thing about the past is that it's over! In NLP, we always think about what's the most useful thing to do, so if you are going to take a journey down through the past, it's just more useful to look at the stuff that worked well. It's not to deny the past, the fact of the matter is bad and challenging things have happened to us all, but if we focus on the good, you'll get to fell a lot more happier in your everyday life, and it's just more useful to look at what was working well. It makes life a lot more exciting, interesting, it develops more resilience, and it helps you to be able to cope with the world!

We all know self care and self help are very important concepts in our modern society. However, one of the problems with the modern self help movement is that it focuses too much on the self. Studies have find that while caring for the self will improve your happiness, habitually doing so can also lead to diminishing returns, where the feel good factor slowly reduces. However, by doing something for someone else habitually, you can improve your well-being and self care as well as those.
