The Harvard Political Review Essay Competition recognises outstanding young writers from around the world, making this an incredible international achievement for Rathdown students, Sienna El-Damaa (5th Year) and Cillian O’Sullivan (6th Year) 🌍🏆

Sienna placed 2nd in Ireland, while Cillian was named Champion of Ireland and Champion of Europe, Russia & Central Asia.

A fantastic achievement for both students and for Rathdown, with special thanks to Ms Toomey, who facilitated the competition in the school and supported the students throughout the process.

🎵 AIJS Music Festival 🎵
We were delighted to welcome schools to Rathdown for this year’s AIJS Music Festival. We had a wide variety of performances including Bands, Trad group, Soloists and Choir.

Thank you to our friends in .montessori, St Kilian’s and The Children’s House Primary for joining us for a wonderful morning of music 🎵

Congratulations to our Rathdown composers- a concert of music written entirely by our students for piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, drumkit, flute, clarinet and recorder! A fantastic evening of music finished with a performance by the School Band- Blame the Raths! 🎵

⭐ YOUNG ECONOMIST OF THE YEAR ⭐

Huge congratulations to our wonderful students who took part in the Young Economist of the Year today in UCD. Of the 10 Rathdown projects on display today, 6 were given major awards.

It was a tough day at the office for our guidance counsellor Ms. McArdle and our 5th years, seen here enjoying the sunshine in Front Square before their campus tour of Trinity College Dublin ☀️

🎭 Rathdown One Act Drama Festival 🎭 takes place on Thursday 7 May at 6.30pm. Admission is €5 and is paid at the door. We hope to see you there!

6th year Ag Science trip 🐄
A super afternoon visiting a dairy farm in Kildare. We were even treated to some home made ice cream from the milk on the farm 🍦

Comhghairdeas le Connie McHugh, Iseult McGovern agus Cillian O’Sullivan who won Craobh Diospoireachta an Phiarsaigh-the All Ireland final of the Gael Linn debating competition. Éacht iontach bainte amach acu.

Congratulations to Julianne (5th year) who was awarded Highly Commended in the Popular Singing Competition representing at Wesley this weekend. A wonderful result! 👏
