The Biological Society is one of the oldest medical societies in Europe and has the great privilege to host a multitude of events to celebrate the academic rigour and success of future medical students. Every year, we host quizzes and case competitions for students to participate in. We would love to have a logo that encompasses our dedication to promoting student accomplishments!

Congratulations to Maryam for winning the Junior Case Competition, and to Jeneva for winning the Senior Case Competition! We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the judge and faculty that attended the competition! We’d also like to thank all the participants who came out yesterday to participate in the competition - you all did a wonderful job and we look forward to seeing you all at future events!

The BioSoc Annual General Meeting will be happening on Thursday 19th May at 6PM on MS Teams! The BioSoc AGM is a chance for you to cast your votes and submit an application for a role on the BioSoc committee for the 2022/2023 academic year. In order to be eligible to submit a vote, you must be a registered member of the RCSI Biological Society on the Student Life HQ.
In order to submit an application and apply for the committee, you must fill out and submit your answers to the Google Form (which can be found in our LinkTree in the BioSoc Instagram bio). The due date to submit an application by is MONDAY 16TH MAY AT 11:59AM. Once you have submitted your application, BioSoc will be in touch regarding further AGM and speech details.

Calling all RCSI students! RCSI’s BioSoc presents our final competition of the year, the Junior and Senior Case Competition happening on Friday 13th May at 7PM on MS Teams! All non-SC1&SC2 students will participate in the Junior Case Competition and SC1 & SC2 students will participate in the Senior Case Competition. Submit your 300 word abstract to [email protected] by Tuesday 10th May at 11:59AM. Looking forward to seeing you all then!

On Saturday 2nd April, the Biological Society hosted an in person Inaugural Address Awards Ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of the RCSI student body. Award recipients were presented with their respective medals/certificates and were recognized for their achievements. On Friday 18th February 2022, the Biological Society was proud to host its 89th Inaugural Address. The theme of the Address was, “The Role of Simulation and Robotics in Surgery” and we were honoured to have an incredible panel of speakers who all provided excellent presentations shaped by their individual surgical specialties. The Biological Society would like to extend a special thank you to all of our speakers, Professor Oscar Traynor, Mr. Richard Power, Mr. William Robb, and Ms. Catherine Moran, as well as Professor Arnold Hill, who provided the Motion, and Professor Rory McConn Walsh, our Faculty President. We would also like to extend a special thank you to all the RCSI faculty and students that attended the event, and a special congratulations to all competition and quiz winners.
