After many hours spent in the lab, our CanSat journey has finally come to an end. We'd like to thank everyone who helped us with our project, and congratulate the winning team from St. Columba's College. The standard of the competition was incredibly high, and we all enjoyed the experience immensely.
Until next year,
Yes We CanSat

Final day before the All-Ireland's, how exciting! That means an extra long work session today, wrapping up what small bits we had left to do! No photos today, wouldn't want to ruin the surprise ;). Wish us luck, and we hope that everything goes well for all participants over the next two days! :D

We're here with an update after another long silence but we're happy to say that our CanSat is finally finished and ready for the final. :) It's been a long journey up to this point but with the competition only 2 days away, we really have to polish our presentation skills before the big day itself! Here's a little sneak peek of what we've been working on recently. Enjoy!

After a long time of not being allowed to reveal anything, I'm finally able to talk about our 3D printing endeavours. Originally, we tried to use our school's 3D printer but unfortunate it didn't work out at all. The photos below will show what we mean moreโฆ
However thanks to our Luke Sewell we gained access to a 3D printer that works. Our chassis was made in 1 and a half hours and after another 17 hours we'll have our cover for the CanSat!!

Yesterday the team took a visit Eblana Photonics who specialise in laser diodes. They were really generous and took the time to answer all the questions we had in relation to our plans for CanSat. Many thanks to Eblana for hosting us!! Hope you all enjoy these photos ๐

In case you haven't heard the news yet, we recently set up a Snapchat account for Yes We CanSat๐๐
The account is meant to show off the fun side of the competition and it's a lot more informal than the page (in case you were worrying).

Last week we were lucky enough to take part in our school's science convention called STEMFEST. This was really great for us because we got to tell people about CanSat in person and get some interest flowing ๐

Hey everyone, apologies for the lack of posts recently due to the factCanSat has been quite busy lately. Without further delay here's the most recent updates: in preparation for the final we are looking into using: a whole new range of sensors, and even more magic and sorcery. More updates will be released soon. Hope you enjoy these photos from the last two meetings:

We had a last minute change to our chassis which keeps the entire circuit board of our CanSat in a fixed position, preventing any damage being caused to it. We switched from an aluminium chassis to a bronze chassis because the adhesive needed worked better with it. Hope you enjoy this photo of the late aluminium chassis which will be missed ๐ข
