Don't take many photos of Danu deliveries but I think it's good to show the good people in Donegal the difference you make when you donate to The Danú Project here in Donegal. This is a photo of a routine delivery to the residents at the Direct Provision centre in Donegal.
Without your donations, this wouldn't be possible so thank you very much for everyone who has made a donation/donations since the project was set up the beginning of last year. Nappies here were mainly donated by a collection done by the community at Greencastle Centre and money donated by the UNISON COMMUNITY BRANCH.
If you have a donation of nappies or children's clothing (24months to 18 years) please get in touch either by PM or email:[email protected]. Thank you very much for all your support for the residents at the centre!
WHAT IS DIRECT PROVISION?
People who arrive in Ireland seeking asylum or “international protection” (asylum seekers) are offered accommodation by the State in residential institutions, under a reception system known as ‘Direct Provision’. The State ‘directly provides’ essential services, including medical care, accommodation and board, along with a small weekly allowance. The Direct Provision system is overseen by the International Protection Accommodation Service. The majority of the centres around the country are privately owned and operated, and the standards of accommodation and living conditions vary widely.
