Voting is now open for the RIAI Public Choice Award 2026 — and you decide the winner!
The RIAI Public Choice Award is Ireland’s only architecture award determined entirely by the public, offering people across the country the chance to recognise and celebrate the buildings and spaces that shape their everyday lives.
Following a rigorous assessment process, 44 projects have been shortlisted from a total of 174 entries submitted across categories, including public use, urban design, conservation, adaptation and re-use, housing, and sustainability. This year’s shortlist showcases an impressive range of projects from 12 counties across Ireland, alongside six international works by Irish architects, highlighting the breadth of architectural talent shaping communities both at home and abroad.
Earlier this morning, RIAI President Fionnuala May FRIAI launched the RIAI Public Choice Award campaign live on . Fionnuala said “From health and education to heritage and housing, this year’s awards demonstrate how outstanding architecture actively shapes the success of public buildings, infrastructure projects and places where we live. This is an excellent opportunity for the public to reflect on how public buildings and designed spaces impact on their enjoyment and quality of their daily lives. These awards show that good architecture is more than beautiful design, it is a societal investment – one that delivers lasting cultural, social, and economic returns for our society.”
