This week, the Butterfly Room explored the theme Wheels and Machines through a variety of exciting activities. On Monday, the children learned about tractors, explored old and future transport, and enjoyed sensory tractor play in the sand tuff tray. On Tuesday, they washed toy cars and practised number and colour sorting. Wednesday was Train Day, where the children learned new songs, painted trains, and created a dinosaur train set together. On Thursday, they made bicycles from playdough and developed their fine motor skills through pencil grip activities. On Friday, the children enjoyed Hot Wheels play along with mechanic and builder role play. Throughout the week, they showed curiosity, creativity, confidence, and teamwork while developing their communication, problem-solving, early maths, imagination, and fine motor skills. New Term Start- Full Day Care Position ( up to 40 hrs) to include supporting children on AIM, flexible to changing routines and interested in working with all age groups if required . Must have excellent communication skills, have initiative, creative, active and adept to planning a curriculum around individual children's needs with a good understanding of Aistear/ Siolta. Candidate may have to work between both schools if required. Proven track record and experience essential.
This Position might also suit a candidate willing to take on an Ass.Management role in the future
Experience of Montessori Curriculum is advantageous: Level 6-8 in ECEC is a requirement. Level 5 are also welcome to APPLY.

During our Holiday-Themed Week in Butterfly room, the children enjoyed a variety of exciting activities that encouraged learning through play. On Airplane Day, they pretended to travel to different places, developing their communication, imagination, and listening skills. During Cruise Day, they worked together in role-play activities, showing cooperation, sharing, and teamwork. On Camping Day, the children explored outdoor-themed activities that helped build their problem-solving skills, confidence, and independence. Beach Day was filled with sensory play, creative art, and movement games that supported their fine and gross motor skills. On Spa Day, the children enjoyed calming activities that promoted self-care, relaxation, kindness, and emotional awareness. Throughout the week, they demonstrated curiosity, creativity, resilience, confidence, and respect while having fun together.
