🐣🌸 Easter Fun at Small World 🌸🐣

What a fantastic start to our Easter celebrations here at Small World Childcare!

Our Junior and Senior Pre-School children had a very special visit from the Easter Bunny 🐰✨ The excitement was unreal as we headed out for our egg hunt around the playground… and to our surprise, the Easter Bunny was waiting for us back in the classroom, chilling out with some delicious chocolate treats! 🍫💛

Week one of Easter Camp in Small World at Scoil Aodh Rua agus Nuala After School has been full of fun and adventure! From lots of creative Easter arts and crafts 🎨 to some tasty baking 🍪, the children have been busy and loving every minute. One of the highlights was our egg hunt in Rossylongan Woods 🌳🥚 We had the best time exploring with our friends, keeping an eye out for squirrels and wildlife as we searched for our yummy eggs!

What a special morning we had on Monday at our Senior Pre-School Tea Party to celebrate International Women’s Day 💐☕
The children were so excited to invite the wonderful ladies in their lives, Mammies, Grannies, Nannies, aunties and other very special guests to join us for a lovely tea party in the classroom.

In the lead up to the day, the children worked so hard preparing for their visitors. They carefully decorated their own invitations and created the cutest short video clips explaining why the person they invited means so much to them. It was lovely to see their pride and hear their beautiful words ❤️

On the morning itself we enjoyed lots of smiles, chats, and some delicious treats together. It was a really meaningful way for the children to celebrate the amazing women who support and care for them every day.

A huge thank you to all the fabulous ladies who joined us — it meant the world to the children to have you there with them.

Hey everyone! 👋 Did you miss us?

We have been super busy since the turn of the New Year here at Small World, and the children have had so much fun along the way! Here’s a little look at what we’ve been up to lately:

💗 We were feeling the love on Valentine’s Day in the Baby and Wobbler rooms with lots of sweet moments.

🥞 Our toddlers enjoyed some very yummy pancakes, and safe to say they went down a treat!

🚌 Our Junior and Senior Pre-Schoolers enjoyed two fantastic trips as part of our Aspire project with Kiddlywinks Childcare. The children took part in special service visits where we visited each other’s services with our educators for the morning and got to play and explore with their new friends in Kiddlywinks – such a lovely experience for everyone involved.

🧸 The whole service enjoyed a super cosy Pyjama Day in aid of the LauraLynn Children’s Hospice charity. Thank you all so much for your incredibly generous donations for such a worthy cause, your kindness means so much.

What a magical few weeks of Christmas fun at Small World 🎄✨
We enjoyed our annual Junior and Senior Pre-School Christmas Plays, the children were absolutely amazing and made us so proud. Our under 3s explored lots of festive sensory trays, we sang plenty of Christmas songs, and on Friday the big man himself paid us a very special visit.

Santa parked his sleigh and reindeer on the roof before visiting all our little friends and confirmed what we already knew… everyone made the nice list!

Due to the storm forecast for tomorrow, Donegal is currently under an Orange weather warning and we plan to remain open as normal at this stage.

However, if the warning is upgraded to Red, we will be required to close immediately in the interest of everyone’s safety.

As we wrap up another week at Small World, we would like to say a huge thank you to our special guest, Brendan the Postman, for paying us a visit. Brendan has the very important job of ensuring all our Kind Deed Letters make their way safely to the North Pole for Santa. 🎅📮✨

The excitement is certainly building for Christmas here at Small World! Many of the children have been chatting about the magical turning on of the Christmas lights in the Diamond, and of course, the Late Late Toy Show tonight has everyone buzzing! 🎄⭐📺

✨🎄 A magical surprise arrived at Small World yesterday evening… all the way from the North Pole! 🎅❄️

Santa’s elves have come to join in on the festive fun and will be staying with us right up until the Christmas holidays before dashing back to help Santa prepare for the big day! 🎁⭐
