Taking site health, safety, and environmental orientation to the next level⬆️

At Walls, the safety and wellbeing of our people is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels safe, supported and prepared from their first day on a new project.

By using VR for the delivery of our HSE Orientation, new site personnel can experience realistic site conditions before they step foot on site.

Available in 9 languages, it also makes our orientation consistent and accessible to our international workforce, reflecting our commitment to making safety inclusive to everyone at Walls.

It's an engaging, informed, and memorable way to help those joining Walls feel prepared from day one, while reinforcing our safety culture across Walls.

Creating a Positive Safety Culture👷‍♂️

At Walls, we believe everyone has a role to play in creating safer workplaces.

Our Great Catch initiative empowers all staff and workers to report health and safety observations, helping us identify hazards, recognise good practice, and continually improve our sites.

Through a simple QR code reporting system, available in 12 languages, we've made it easy for everyone to get involved. Today, the initiative generates hundreds of Great Catch reports every month, reflecting the strong safety culture across our projects.

Each month, we recognise and reward individuals whose observations make our sites safer for everyone.

Congratulations to our latest Great Catch winners and sincere thanks to all our contributors. Every observation makes a difference.

Proud to Support Local Talent 💃🌍

We were proud to sponsor the kidkast Performing Arts School from Drogheda, contributing towards funding the team’s competition kits as they represented Team Ireland at the Dance World Cup 2026, held in Dublin from the 8th to the 18th of July.

This year's DWC was the largest dance competition ever hosted in Ireland, welcoming over 11,500 dancers aged 4-25 from more than 70 countries in three iconic locations: the Convention Centre Dublin, the Mansion House and the 3Arena.

Congratulations to Team Ireland on an incredible achievement, finishing 5th overall with 12 gold, 16 silver and 22 bronze medals. A special well done to the Kidkast team - we’re proud to have supported your journey and wish you every success.

Having reached the midpoint of the year, we are pleased to reflect on a selection of social value initiatives delivered across our projects and head office teams in support of the communities in which we work.

These activities highlight the ongoing commitment of our site teams and colleagues to creating positive and lasting impact beyond project delivery, and reflect our continued dedication to supporting education, wellbeing, sport, and local community development across all areas of our business.

We would like to thank everyone involved in organising and delivering these initiatives throughout the year. Their commitment strengthens our relationships with local communities and reinforces the principle of giving back as part of what we do.

🌳 Building a Legacy for Nature, Together🌳

At Walls, sustainability extends beyond the projects we deliver. As part of our wider ESG strategy and commitment to enhancing biodiversity and increasing natural carbon capture, we continue to invest in the sustainable management of Gowlagh Forest, working alongside Green Belt to create lasting environmental benefits for future generations.

In this video, we take a closer look at our forest, sharing what we've learned and progress we’ve made to date, including:

📹 Wildlife trail cameras, providing valuable insights while capturing a variety of wildlife

💧 Pond micro habitat established which is beginning to flourish, with early observations showing increased insect and bird activity

🌲 Sustainable forest management with carefully planned harvesting of mature trees to create space for younger saplings, strengthening biodiversity and enhancing the forest's long-term ability to capture carbon.

We look forward to seeing Gowlagh Forest continue to evolve and flourish in the years ahead.

🏅An inspiring conversation with Lara Gillespie. 🚴

We were delighted to welcome back Irish Olympian and European Champion Cyclist Lara Gillespie to Walls HQ for a fireside chat with our Business Development & Marketing Director, Barry Hennessy.

Lara shared her journey from discovering cycling to competing on the world stage, the dedication behind her recent success, and what it means to see Ireland's future National Velodrome taking shape.

As our team is in the process of delivering this landmark facility, it was a proud opportunity for our colleagues to hear first-hand how this landmark facility will help inspire and support future generations of Irish cyclists.

A huge thank you to Lara for sharing her story, insights and ambition with the Walls team. We wish her every success for the season ahead.

Over the past few days, our teams across Head Office and project sites have enjoyed a well-deserved ice cream treat, taking some time to recharge and make the most of the sunshine.
