The most apt way, perhaps, of summing up St Brendan’s College’s participation in this year’s All-Ireland Post Primary Schools SFC campaign was that it was a real blockbuster, a truly epic adventure…

Our Senior Football Panel face their biggest challenge yet on their footballing voyage as they face current holders-Tralee CBS in the Munster Final on this Saturday at 1:00pm in Fitzgerald Stadium. St. Brendan's has a proud tradition in this competition and, since its inception, each year the College teams compete at or near its summit. It is a competition which the college celebrates, generations of teams, teachers and mentors have invested hugely in the romance of the Corn Uí Mhuirí and the camaraderie of building a successful panel of young men. For us as a school our Senior Team carries the hopes and ambitions of the whole school.
Seeing this team out training in September was a signal to all of us that every effort was going to be made this year to return to a more normal school life. Having navigated the group games undefeated, they faced tough challenges against Coláiste na Sceilge in the quarter-final- while they defeated Hamilton High School in the semi-final after extra time.
With each game they have learned and improved and now we all look forward to an exciting final on Saturday. The management team of Mr. Kevin Cronin, Mr Bryan O'Mahony and Mr Gavin White have worked assiduously despite all the setbacks and challenges we have faced this year. We are most grateful for their efforts and their expertise. We are also thankful to our sponsors- The Gleneagle Hotel Group who have recently renewed their links with the school for the coming years.
As the game is being played in Killarney we are hopeful of a large following of students and past students to cheer on the team as the game unfolds.
Tickets for the game can only be accessed online- it is not possible to pay cash at the turnstiles- below please find the link
