WEEE cannot do anymore!

Thank you to all our parents, students and the wider community for supporting our 🪫 recycling collection.

Together we collected 400kg of batteries!!!

We now sit and wait ☺ hoping that we are successful in our bid to collect the largest number of batteries for any ‘small school’ in the country. Fingers crossed!

Our very first Active Schools Week & what a success it was.

Thank you to our Active School Committee members Ted, Ruairí, Finn, Oisín, Lilian and Gearóid for their work with Ms. Harte and Ms. Hourihane to make this week such a fun experience for the whole school.

From Crazy Golf to table tennis, active walkway activities to circuits along with our basketball workshop with Janne and our Sciath Na Scol GAA blitz - we had a blast!! 🏀 🏓 ⛳️ Our very first Active Week & what a success it was.

The pupils made wonderful memories yesterday at Darrara National School as they took part in an archaeological investigation called The Big Dig hosted by the School of Irish Archaeology. They also participated in a mini beast hunt,basketball, table tennis, art and outdoor circuits with their friends at Darrara. A big thank you to all at Darrara National School for hosting such a wonderful day and also to our Parents Association who sponsored the day.

Our Active Week kicked off with some crazy golf yesterday morning. It was great to see younger and older pupils enjoying the activity together. A big thank you to Ms. Harte and the student council for setting up the course.

Congratulations to the children from our school and Ardfield National School who made their First Holy Communion in St. James’ Church yesterday.
Wishing them every blessing now and always.

Many thanks to everyone in the parish of Ardfield and Rathbarry who made this a special occasion for them.

We are proud of them all and were delighted to share this special day with them.

Well done to our two crews who showed great determination in the West Cork School's Regatta yesterday evening. We are very proud of them. Thanks to all involved in running the event. A special thank you to John, Danny and Michael from Galleyflash Rowing Club for organising practise for our rowers!

Pupils having been busy planting in the polytunnel with Junior Room pupils creating their own labels for the various plants. A big thank you to parents Diane, Poppy and Claire for their help in the polytunnel and school garden.

With just 10 days to go until the closing date of the WEEE Ireland 🇮🇪 school’s batteries competition, a huge thank you to our local community for supporting our battery recycling ♻️ drive.
Whether we achieve our goal of collecting the largest amount of batteries in the small school category or not, it has been wonderful to see our pupils, parents and local community work together to support us! Thank you.
