Dear members,
We are delighted to share that last week we organised the 10th Annual Economics Conference.๐
The Conference, entitled โEconomics in an Uncertain World: Ireland, Europe and the Future of Global Powerโ, took place in Hayfield Manor on the 19th of March 2026 from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm.๐๏ธ
The event was divided into 3 panels:
Panel 1 - Reflection of Adam Smithโs Wealth of Nations 250 years on and its impact
- Guests: Dr. Robbie Butler (Senior Lecturer at University College Cork) and Dr. Eamonn Butler (Director of the Adam Smith Institute)
Panel 2 - Economics in an uncertain time and Europe and Irelandโs position in the wider world
- Guests: Alex White SC(Director General of the Institute of International and European Affairs (IIEA) and Senior Counsel at the Irish Bar), Maxime Augรฉ (Head of the economic department at the Embassy of France in Ireland), Jude Webber (Financial Times correspondent for Ireland), Christine Kearney (Chartered Irish Tax Adviser and founder of Venga People) and Hugh Ahern (Chair)
Panel 3 - Fiscal Policy and Irish Banking in Changing Times
