We are a non-profit that teaches traditional music to people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.

Creative Tradition is a non-profit, community organization which runs social and musical projects in Cork, including
Club Ceoil Blarney, Club Ceoil Knocknaheeny, TradOrchestras, TradCamps, and various in-school programmes. Our experienced and talented music tutors have a passion for teaching trad music to learners of all skill levels and ages. Our programmes are research-based and led by Dr. Jessi

🎶 Massive well done to our Teen Trad group who absolutely smashed it at this year’s Ocean to City Festival! 🌊

And the fun doesn’t stop there. We’re heading into an incredible weekend with our Belfast youth exchange as part of Cruinniú na nÓg this Saturday! 🎵✨

We’ll also be performing at ’s Rock the Block festival in the City Centre. Come find us at the City Library at around 3pm! 🎸 There’s a brilliant full lineup of live music you won’t want to miss.

Enjoy this stunning live performance of 'Sail On' by the legendary Clare Sands‬, featuring young musicians from Scoil Aiséirí Chríost Scoil Íosagáin BNS Farranree Music Generation Cork City Music Generation Carlow! We had the most amazing time at the 4th Annual Féile Fearann Rí, beautifully captured by Fionn Mulvey. This performance captures everything that made the day so special: Clare brought so much joy, the fire, and the pure soul to Farranree.

We’re delighted to be hosting TradCamp again this summer in partnership with and .aiseiri.chriost 🙌

Here’s everything you need to know:

🎶 Open to young traditional musicians aged 6–17 — all abilities welcome!

Friday and Saturday at the Féile were all about learning, sharing, and enjoying in for the craic 🎶✨

We kicked things off on Friday with a beautiful Singer’s Circle led by Sorcha de Róiste, followed by an unforgettable festival session in with and 🪗🪕🎻

Saturday brought together learners of all ages and abilities for inspiring workshops with master musicians. A huge thank you to for leading the sean-nós dancing, and to for sharing her deep knowledge of the music of Daingean Uí Chúis 🎻

We were blown away by a vibrant youth session in , led entirely by the young musicians of Club Ceoil Knocknaheeny alongside Cathal Ó Loinsigh 🙌

To wrap up, we hosted our very first live podcast collaboration with in . Guest speakers, Maureen and Mandy had a brilliant conversation with Sinead and Suzy reflecting on the festival, with live tunes on air from Harry, Benjamin, and Michael. It was a perfect ending to an epic Féile - full of music, community, and a little post-match analysis! 💚

🎻✨ Last week at Féile Fearann Rí, we were joined by the brilliant for a full day of workshops, rehearsals, and an epic Gala Concert 🎻✨

Over a 150 young people and adults musicians took part in this beautiful intergenerational celebration of music-making! Maith sibh 👏

The Gala Concert is always a highlight of the year, but this one felt extra special. The young people and adult learners were truly outstanding 💫
We hosted a wonderful collaboration with and for this year’s festival, and we can’t wait to share some music videos with you soon! 🎶

🎻 What an incredible four days at Féile Fearann Rí 2026! 🎻

We’re still buzzing after a truly special festival filled with music, learning, connection, and unforgettable moments. It was a celebration of trad music at its very best! From inspiring workshops, group rehearsals, to the magic of live music, song, and storytelling — it was all just so superb!

Our first day of started with copious amounts of tae, sangers, and cakes at festival youth headquarters in .aiseiri.chriost ☕️ A huge thank you to the girls, choir, teachers and whole school who hosted fantastic rehearsals and a youth exchange with

Our opening night in Hollyhill Library was absolutely beautiful. and launched the festival in great style, keeping the tunes, stories, and craic flowing all evening. ✨ The night events featured our adult performers, including the sean-nós singing group and tin whistle players from Club Ceoil Knocknaheeny, led by Sorcha de Róiste. Thank you so much to .tonyfitzgerald for lanching the festival with some inspiration words, and to for the photos.
