Here at Sweet Bird we know that inspiration can come from everywhere. We both love charity shops. One of my favourite things is finding books that I can not leave behind!
This gorgeous book was bought for €2. It’s big. 16 and a half inches long and 13 inches wide. I measured it! It’s got a beautiful map of Ireland from 1599 by a guy called Baptista Boazio. (photo below) See I didn’t even know there were maps of Ireland from then! I immediately want to do a deep dive into Baptista …

What strikes me about this book from 1979 is it seems like a real labour of love. I understand very little on first inspection, but that’s ok, I’ll soon get into the lore of ‘Air Frost and Growing Season’ and ‘Acid Loving Plants’. ( some great band names right there) Then there’s the smell. That lovely special smell that old books have. Think this beauty will be coming to the workshops with us!! ❤️

Aine O Gorman and myself are very excited to share with you our beautiful brochure!! Isn't it just gorgeous like! I can say that because Aine designed it. 🥰 It is ready to go to the printers and we should have copies in our hands soon! Then we will put on our flower crowns, sing a few bars and some beautiful birds will come and distribute them, Enchanted style! 🎼 🐦🌺🐦🌸🎼

Sweet Bird Songwriting Workshops are here!! Aine O Gorman and myself Victoria Keating are delighted to say that this is our new business!! We are the creativity facilitators behind Sweet Bird Songwriting Workshops. We believe that everyone can write a song, and with our experience hosting songwriting workshops we are certain that there is magic in a creative collective collective. This benefits everyone, even people who have no experience in songwriting. The workshops are set up to accommodate group collaboration. We are open for business, taking bookings and very much look forward to working with you!!
