Really enjoying the sunshine in Ireland this week. Spent Sunday in the Gearagh doing field research and today at the beach in gorgeous weather. The water and sun have been good for the soul.

I adore being on the water and got to see a very small part of the Stockholm archipelago before leaving Sweden today. I secretly have always wanted to live on a small island in the sea...

In Stockholm for a few days to present a paper on what I am learning on the River Lee about colonialism and modernity. Enjoying the long sunny day on the balcony and my first ride on a high speed rail system.
So many green spaces in the city.
High speed rail at 188 km/hr. 🚄

It's been a lovely birthday weekend, with good food and good friends, and an excursion today to Killarney National Park to see the trees. Ireland has only 2% native tree cover and such a tiny bit of it's temperate rainforest left, so the few giant pine trees left feel extra special. I needed to breathe with the forest again.

Happy Brigid's day. In Ireland, the season is marked by the first appearance of the snowdrops, signaling the days are getting longer and spring is unfolding.
