Another successful Club show done and dusted 😊 🥳

While it was a little breezy, thankfully the rain held off and the bright skies stayed with us for most of the day 🙏🌤

The craic and laughs were had, and it was so good to catch up with friends from clubs all over the region - the spirit of the Riding Club is well and truly alive and that is what being a part of the Riding community is all about 🥰

These events could not go ahead without the input and dedication of our wonderful committee, and massive props to our club secretary Eimear for her organisational skills and working tirelessly to get all the ducks in a row, you are so appreciated! 🫶

To the Kerins Family, for allowing us to use the fantastic facilities, Richard for the excellent course building including the "Derby styles" fences, Noleen for Judging the show jumping, Connie Noone for judging the Dressage, Lucy from Attymass Country Store, and Stephen Bolas for manning the fences, many many thanks for your expertise 🙏 Our sponsors Horsecare.ie and Bluemoose thabk you for the prizes you so kindly provided 🫶

To all the volunteers who worked the warmup arena, pole picking, call up, and taking care of the kitchen, we heavily rely on your time and willingness to help out to make sure things runs smoothly so THANK YOU! 🫶

And last but certainly not least to all our competitors who turned up and turned out, especially those who travelled a good distance, we know the cost of travelling anywhere these days is ridiculous so we greatly appreciate your support and your entries 🫶❤️

Massive congratultations to all who competed in the Assoc of Irish Riding Clubs Hunter Trials in Nuenna Equestrian Centre in Kilkenny today 👏 A great distance to travel, and it proved to be a very demanding course to navigate. 😬

We had 4 riders who took on the daunting challenge, and although it didnt end in podium finishes for all, our members still gave it their best shot in both the pairs and the individual classes. 🙌

Therese Anderson and Misneach did go clear in both, but unfortunately weren't near the optimum time.
Emma O'Connor and the mighty Enzo powered their way through to joint 5th in the individual. 💪

Hats off to all of our riders, Therese, Emma, Lisa, and Sharon, and to all our commerades in the AIRC West region! 👏 And of course to all the organisers and volunteers, a huge event to construct and we are very lucky to have such a diligent crew working in the background to allow these events to happen! 🙏

❗️📢 ATTENTION PLEASE 📢❗️

Benbulben Riding Club Autumn Show 2026 is now open for entries! 🥳

With classes from 60cm clear round jumping, right up to 110/120cm, and Dressage classes from Intro to RCM, there is a class to suit everyone! 🤗
🔸️We have also introduced a "Derby style" class for the 80cm Open, 90cm Open and 1m Open 🔸️

The important details....: 👀

📅 Sunday 4th October
⏰️ Kicking off at 10am
📍 Tubberbride Equestrian Centre, Collooney, Sligo.
🫖☕️🍪 Refreshments will be available on the day

We are also holding a raffle with some super prizes to be won! Raffle tickets and entry forms are now available on ItsPlainSailing 🎟

This show is always a popular one, and promises to be a mighty day out, with all the Family welcome, so make sure to get your entries in soon!

🚨📣 SCHOOLING OPPORTUNITY📣🚨

Benbulben Riding Club are hosting a Derby-style schooling and practise evening, open to all A.I.R.C members 🙂

This will include a mixture of SJ and XC fences, at Mini, Midi, and Maxi heights, and is a great opportunity to get some practise in before the Hunter Trials, or just get more exposure to XC type fences in a relaxed and laid back supportive atmosphere 🙌

The important bits ‼️
📍 Where: Tubberbride Equestrian Centre, Collooney, Co. Sligo
📆 : When: 17th September
⏰️ Time: Starting at 7pm with 70cm
💶 Cost: €15 per entry

The wet weather certainly didnt dampen the spirits in Falcarragh on Sunday! 🤘🏼😄

Donegal Gaeltacht Riding Club held their annual Lawrence Smyth Memorial Beach Show, a day that always proves to be a highlight of the calendar year, and a very lovely way to end the summer show season 😊

Our 3 members Therese, Sharon, and Lisa took off up for the weekend, and didnt come home empty handed! 🥳

🥈🥇Therese took 2nd in the P2 Dressage and also claimed victory in the 90cm jumping 🥳 When Therese and Misneach are locked in, there really is NO stopping them 💪

🥉Sharon and Bella came 3rd in the Novice Dressage 🥳 Between Hunter showing, Show Jumping, and Dressage, this pair are a serious triple threat!

🥉🥉 Lisa was right behind Therese coming 3rd in the P2 Dressage, and also 3rd in the 80cm jumping 🥳 Hard to believe these 2 are only just back in action, and killing it on the competitive scene already! 🙌

Rainy cloudy and dull, but shiny happy people all round 🤗 Thank you to the wonder hosts Donegal Gaeltacht RC for the cameraderie and hospitality, its always a spectacular day out, and a joy to be a part of with you 😊🫶🐴

And so ends another week of the most highly anticipated equestrian event of the year - the Gallagher Dublin Horse Show 🐴🍀🇮🇪

Aside from the normal thrills of the Aga Khan, Puissance, Grand Prix, here at Benbulben Riding Club we had our sights set on the Connemara Performance class, where our own Shauna Wilson made her RDS debut with Harley 🤗 An extremely hotly contested class of 15, but Shauna didnt let the nerves get the better of her, and she and Harley STORMED to 7th place after a magnificent jumping round! 🙌🥳👏 An incredible achievement for their first time at this prestigious event, and the club is so proud of you Shauna 👏🫶🖤💛
