Little Breeches Preschool & Montessori Little Breeches provides care and early education for children aged between 2.5 - 5 years in the community of Rathangan, Co. Wexford.

We are a sessional service who use the frameworks of Aistear and Siolta, as well as the Montessori Philosophy.

What an amazing (but very wet and muddy 🙈) Winter we have had in Little Breeches! No matter what the weather is, the children love to get out into the garden. Their learning and development is endless, from developing their gross motor skills to risk taking to imaginary play. We explored bears and hibernation and built fabulous towers. We also enjoyed the build up to Christmas and had a wonderful time at our Christmas party 🎅🏻

What a busy time we have had over the past month 😃 The children have settled in so well and have made the most of their time with us. They loved exploring our Autumn theme, from searching for conkers and black berries, conker rolling and making sculptures from the treasures we found 🍁🌳 We created a Northern Lights collage and Opera Festival masks and we finished off the month celebrating Halloween 🎃👻

What a busy few months we have had in Little Breeches 😃😃 We celebrated Valentine’s Day, Pancake Tuesday, St Patrick’s Day and Easter and what fun the children had 💕 🥞☘️ 🐰
Despite all the rain and miserable weather, the children still enjoyed their time outside in the garden 🌧️ They made chocolate factories, searched for worms and had a car wash. But we are very excited to see the weather improve now and finally be able to welcome spring ☀️🌼

What a busy month January has been! We welcomed some new boys and girls to Little Breeches this term and we are delighted with how well they have settled in 😊 This month saw the children observe the heavy Winter weather which brought Jack Frost to our garden and the desire to experiment with water and ice ❄️ We also experimented with colour and shape and made explosions and lava 🧫 There was also lots of child led play in the garden and the classroom too 😃
