Sionnach Relay Series Ireland's First Fun Overnight Relay Race covering over 274 Km in Sligo Ireland July 2015. Teams of 8 The race takes an average of 24 hours to complete. Sligo.

Take the concept of summer time outdoor concerts and combine it with the fun of a charity run all centered around a tented village for 24 hours, mix in 4 scenic runs, great vendors, and camping with a team of 8 and you have the Sionnach relay Series. Teams consist of 8 runners and will run a total of 160 miles. Each Runner runs 20 miles total over 4 loops with a 5 hour average break between loops

while their team mates run. Teams will begin in staggered start times between 12 pm and 6 pm on the Saturday depending on the teams average 8k pace. Runner will run with their team through the night around Co. Teams will finish on Sunday between 9 am and 6 pm. When the other 7 runners are not running, they will be busy cheering on their teammates and soaking up the party atmosphere at Sionnach Village waiting for the active runner to return to hand off to the next runner. Teams will leave vehicles in the parking lot/hotels or B&Bs and bring in tents into the secure tented village. Each team will be assigned a space for their tents where they will setup and call it home. This relay is about camping having fun and enjoying music at Sionnach Village while running for a great cause (The Irish Cancer Society)

Where: The event is to be held in Sligo, Ireland (The European City Of Sport for 2014) with the Sionnach Village (the hub) at the Institute Of Technology
