TICKETS ON SALE NOW 🌱🎭

TY students Sean and Ella are selling tickets for our school musical 'Little Shop of Horrors' at Lyons Mace Castlerea this morning. Tickets are selling fast so make sure to get yours today!

A pop up ticket sales desk is also in place today at Lidl Castlerea where you will meet our TY students Michael and Dorian.

Tickets can also be purchased from Kearney’s Chemist and Josies Cafe.

Tickets are on sale EVERY DAY directly from the school!

Meet the exceptionally talented cast who are busy rehearsing this much loved, hilarious, and unforgettable musical. The cast are sounding amazing and still have a few more days to showtime. The set is going to be magnificent. The plants have arrived in CCS and all roads are leading to the vibrant world of Skid Row! Can’t wait for the big reveal. This is a show for everyone.

A huge thank you to the art team for their amazing work getting everything ready for the incredible set for our musical Little Shop of Horrors. All hands on deck this week to ensure all is ready for next week. We can’t wait to see the show! Get ready to show off your spookiest, funniest and most ghoulish costume on Friday 23rd of October!

Dress up, get in the Halloween spirit and represent your class for a chance to win the prize for best dressed class.

No masks or face coverings during class or break time (bring for judging and group photo)

May the most ghoulish class win!🎃👻🕷️

Important- Students are not permitted to wear regular attire, if choosing to participate students must be dressed up in Halloween clothes.

Comhairle na nÓg

Roscommon Comhairle na nÓg held its annual Youth Conference on Tuesday the13th of October, at The Hub in Castlerea.

Members of CCS Student Council were in attendance to have their voices heard and mix with peers from schools around the county.
Round table discussion on a range of topics that affect young people were thrashed out, everything from social media use to youth services for mental health were analysed and evaluated.

Students were grouped with students from other schools to gain other perspectives.
Fun activities on the day also included social dancing, Brazilian drumming and using Tik Tok to create a piece as a group. Some students from CCS put their names forward for the County Comhairle. We gained many ideas for the school year going forward.

Our representatives were: Nathan O’Connor, Michael Sarsfield, Matthew Tully, Tapiwa Chidzambwa, Tegan Jones, Emily Swanick, Rida Abbas, Sine Maphiwa, Amy Hannon, Aidas Nedzinskas, Johnathan Du Toit, Gabriela Victoria Ramos da Silva Fox, Maja Salich, Ciara Casey Hayes, Cara Temple, Erin Nolan, and Paulina Lach.

Leaving Certificate Geography Field Trip

Leaving Certificate geography students enjoyed a very interesting and informative trip to the Burren Education Centre and Bishop Quarters beach in Co. Clare. Students completed a field investigation on the study of Sand dunes where they identified wind speed and direction, longshore drift, dune height, different sand dune zones and human interaction with sand dunes.
