The Leaving Cert and Leaving Cert Applied results were outstanding again this year and we are incredibly proud of the achievements of each and every young man who has been with us for the past five or six years. In St. Colman's College we try our very best to get all students to reach their potential in school, thereby getting themselves ready for the next chapter of their lives whether that's further education, apprenticeship or work. Well done to everyone who did so well and we wish you all the best as you start the next stage of your lives. Our sincere thanks to all our teachers and SNA staff for their wonderful work throughout the year with our students. Their great work and dedication is reflected in our students' achievements again this year.

So much has been said and written already about the amazing achievement of the Mayo team in Croke Park yesterday, a day for the ages. It was a monumental achievement, winning the Sam Maguire Cup, after so many years of heartache. Our heartiest congratulations to everyone involved in this truly historic occasion in the annals of Irish sport. Special mention for the great men from St. Colman's College who did themselves and their school community proud on one of the greatest days in Mayo's illustrious sporting history. Well done to Darragh Beirne, Eoin McGreal, Enda Hession, Stephen Coen, Fenton Kelly, Conor Finn and Colm Boyle who are all part of the present Mayo set-up. We are incredibly proud of your dedication, your commitment and your never-say-die attitude which has ultimately landed the greatest prize in our Gaelic Games. We look forward to seeing the Sam Maguire Cup in St. Colman's College in the near future along with the greats who have truly earned it. In the meantime, we hope everyone enjoys this unique occasion and gets a chance to welcome Sam back to Mayo after seventy-five long years. ❤️💚❤️💚❤️💚❤️💚❤️💚❤️

As the excitement builds we want to wish the very best of luck to the Mayo team and management in the All Ireland Final tomorrow. To see so many past pupils from St. Colman’s involved in the biggest Gaelic football match in the country is a really proud moment and we can only imagine how it feels for the lads themselves and their families. We wish the very best of luck Eoin McGreal, Enda Hession, Stephen Coen, Darragh Beirne, Fenton Kelly, Colm Boyle and Conor Finn and all of their teammates, two of whom, Jack Coyne and David McBrien, did part of their teacher training here with us. How we would love to see Sam McGuire come home to Mayo! Ádh mór oraibh go léir!

Congrats to Mayo on a great win over Louth and qualification for the All Ireland Final. Everyone in St. Colman’s is immensely proud of our alumni who are part of this wonderful panel. Eoin McGreal, Enda Hession, Stephen Coen, Darragh Beirne and Fenton Kelly were all on the field and Colm Boyle was a selector on the sideline pulling the strings along with manager, Andy Moran. Congrats on a fantastic victory lads. We are all looking forward to tomorrow where we will find out who we play on the big day on July 26th and also to the scramble for tickets!

Congratulations to Michael Crawley, who has just completed 1st year in St. Colman’s College. He won his first All Ireland medal over the weekend in the All Ireland Race walking finals in Tullamore. A fantastic achievement. Well done Michael. Here he is pictured with Pierce O'Callaghan who presented Michael with his medal.

Well done to all our past pupils on the Mayo Senior Football team on their fantastic victory over Cork on Saturday. Eoin McGreal, Enda Hession, Stephen Coen and Darragh Beirne all saw game time and all acquitted themselves exceptionally well. Well done also to Fenton Kelly who is on the panel but currently out injured.
Congrats in particular to Darragh who picked up the man of the match award, after a brilliant individual performance, where he kicked 0-7 and showed many of the vast array of skills that he showed so well as a player in the red and white of St. Colman’s.
Well done also to Colm Boyle who is a selector on Andy Moran’s management team. It’s great to see so many of our former players involved in Gaelic football at the highest level and inspiring the next generation of footballers. The lads have now earned a chance at playing in the biggest game of all. They play Louth in the All Ireland semi final in Croke Park on Saturday week, the 11th of July, at 6pm. Maith sibh a bhuachaillí, Táimid an-bhródúil asaibh go léir.

Day 4 of walking the Camino and we reached Santiago de Compostela earlier today, Sunday. Following an early start from Padrõn we walked the last 22km to reach the Cathedral of St. James in the early afternoon. We had decided last evening to attend the Pilgrim Mass at 7.30pm instead of 12 noon which gave us an opportunity to relax more on the last leg of our Camino pilgrimage. Reaching Santiago was a very memorable occasion for everyone with a real sense of accomplishment and achievement. The other high point of today was handing in the Pilgrim Passports and collecting the 'Credencial' after completing the journey itself.
A relaxing day ahead tomorrow for our group as we get ready to leave Santiago in the evening with some lovely memories made and friendships deepened. Thanks to all the fifth year students who have been brilliant on this journey with us. Well done all, it has been our privilege to be with you, buen Camino!

Our third day walking and we have reached Padròn, a beautiful old town in north-western Spain. We had a slightly later start this morning after a very long day yesterday in the heat. Our students are fantastic and really helping each other on the long journeys. As we get closer to Santiago the various pilgrim paths from all over the country are starting to converge and the numbers of pilgrims are also starting to increase. Today, we walked 24 km through the Spanish countryside, going through lots of woodland and quaint rural villages with spectacular floral displays in abundance. The scenery is really stunning and there is something different around every corner. We will have Mass shortly and then watch the big Mayo-Cork match in Croke Park before exploring the town of Padròn and having dinner. Early start again tomorrow morning as we have a 25 km walk to get to Santiago by 12 noon for the Pilgrim Mass in Cathedral of St. James....buen Camino!
