Making mistakes is all part of the learning process. As teachers, we embrace mistakes because they're the perfect opportunity for students to learn.

Here are 3 common mistakes we've noticed some of our students making:
1. I have 16 years. X
I am 16 years old. โœ“

2. I am agree with you. X
I agree with you. โœ“

3. My apartment is in the third floor. X
My apartment is on the third floor. โœ“

Do you find yourself making some of these common mistakes?

Why do 'debt' and 'doubt' have a silent 'b' in them?

Debt comes from the Latin 'debitum'. Up until the Middle Ages, the word was 'dette', as it is in French, too.

But lexical scholars (with possibly too much time on their hands) decided to give credit to the original authors. Thus the 'b' was added as a tip of a hat to the Latin language. ๐ŸŽฉ
