Today was the last day of this school year, what a wonderful year it was, we gained a wonderful new principal, who reiterates the wonderful values his predecessor also did, we also gained a new Junior teacher, who has brought so much to her classroom, not to mention all the academic achievements, as well as being so proud of all our sporting achievements.

We are in a superb catchment area for Cloughjordan, Borrisokane, Shinrone, Moneygal, Toomevara, Dunkerrin and surrounding areas with bus transport available from many of these areas.

Over the last few years the number of children graduating from our school has been larger than the number of children enrolling. This is not through lack of effort in promoting our school or is it in any way a negative reflection of the school either. These things just happen due to population, work and other factors.

Unfortunately if numbers of new enrolments do not increase we may be looking at losing a classroom teacher as our enrolment numbers will be below the threshold.
This would be very disappointing for us as we will lose a valued member of our teaching staff and an important member of our school community. We would have three classrooms instead of four and the class groupings would have to change.

Cloughjordan No.1 N.S. is an amazing school, from the children to the staff and facilities.
What makes the school even more special is the community we have, the way we all pull together and make Cloughjordan No.1 N.S. what it is today.

I am appealing to you all, our school community, to talk with people you meet or people you may know who are considering enrolling their child in a school this year or next year to take Cloughjordan No.1 N.S. into consideration.

We have lots of exciting plans ahead of us for the future and important developments in mind, with the children's education, well-being and best interests in mind.

Our afterschool club Hi-5 will open in September and offers a range of amazing activities, help with homework and further social, academic and fun opportunities, while being a valuable service for parents who are working, to make life easier knowing their children will be cared for and looked after.

We have so much pride in these girls and every step they've taken to get to today.

We also want to thank St. Micheal's NS, Cloughjordan for showing their support today with many students travelling up to The Aviva to watch the girls from Cloughjordan No 1 NS. Many of these girls also played in Thurles in the combined team from both schools, so lovely for our schools to have such a wonderful supportive friendship.

The families of the girls who traveled, the rest of the pupils and of course many of our past pupils and staff.

The community of Cloughjordan, each of you have been amazing.

👏👏⚽️🏟Today was unfortunately not our day, the girls gave it their all. They played amazing and put all their effort in. They will be coming home to Cloughjordan this evening and we will all still have so much pride in them as if they had won. After getting to the Munster Finals three years in a row, to get to The Aviva today to represent Munster and play in the finals, was a huge accomplishment. Well done girls, you done yourselves, your school, the community, County and Province proud. 🏟⚽️👏👏

Well done girls, today you played in the field of dreams, bigger days in that same pitch may still await many of you.
