The rain certainly didn't dampen the spirits nor the enthusiasm of our boys and girls who couldn't wait to get into Scoil Íosagáin this morning.
Sincere thanks to Fr. Bradley for the special blessing of the entrance to the new building ( Phase One). It's been a truly special day for our school community and we look forward to a year filled with fun, friendship, kindness and lots of learning! Exciting times ahead.

Excitement is building at Scoil Íosagáin as we prepare to welcome our pupils back to school tomorrow. And we extend a very special welcome to our Junior Infants who are starting big school for the very first time, and to those pupils who are joining our school in other year groups.
Tomorrow will be a special day in the history of our school as our 4th, 5th and 6th classes, together with some of our Special Classes will be moving into the completed Phsse One of our new school! We've been waiting so very long for this day and thank God that it has finally arrived.
We appreciate your support and co-operation in ensuring that the school environment remains safe for the children during arrival and home time, given that building work continues on Phase Two. Cars are not permitted to enter Saint Patrick's Road or Saint Oran's Oaks to drop-off/collect children. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
So one more sleep and it's back to porridge! We can't wait.❤️

What a difference a week makes!! Scoil Íosagáin is now ready for the beginning of Phase Two of our new school, with Phase One nearing completion. And while there were mixed emotions as we bade farewell to the iconic Sacred Heart building, we look forward to a new school environment that will be fit for purpose in relation to having the best possible resources and facilities for our children and staff, but still encompassing the traditions and values of a past that has served us well. Very exciting times ahead. ❤️❤️❤️

All at Scoil Íosagáin are absolutely overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity shown by our community in recent weeks.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated to and supported our Project Zambia fundraiser. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we are so close to reaching our target to send our container of educational resources and school furniture to needy children in Zambia.
This project simply would not have been possible without the dedication of our amazing staff, volunteers, parents, pupils, local businesses and the wider Buncrana community. The countless hours spent sorting, lifting, packing and organising have been nothing short of extraordinary. Together, you have turned what could have been waste into an opportunity that will change the lives of hundreds of children.
Thank you for proving what can be achieved when a community comes together with kindness, compassion and a shared purpose. We are incredibly grateful.
The go fund me page to raise the funds to send the container to Zambia will close tomorrow.
Please click below if you would like to donate.
Go raibh míle maith agaibh.

Scoil Íosagáin was delighted to be involved recently with a wonderful programme 🌿 Growing Together - Art & Nature Wellbeing Programme 🌿.
During the months of May and June, Mrs Conroy's Second Class pupils enjoyed a six-week art and nature-based wellbeing programme designed and delivered by Geraldine Timlin, Artist & Art Psychotherapist.
Through creative activities, outdoor exploration, nature journalling and reflective art-making, the children were encouraged to slow down, notice the natural world around them, and explore how creativity and nature can support wellbeing, curiosity, confidence and connection.
The programme also introduced children to local plants, trees and riverside habitats while encouraging empathy and respect for the environment and an appreciation that we are part of nature, not separate from it.

'Growing Together' has been thoughtfully designed by Geraldine Timlin and is informed by, and aligned with the principles of The Wellbeing Framework for Primary Schools, encompassing the principles of Bí Cineálta and underpinning the pillars of the DCU - Dublin City University Changemaker Schools Network supporting the development of empathy, creativity, teamwork and leadership through meaningful, nature-connected experiences.
Our pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed the programme and we are already looking forward to our next outdoor learning experience. Thank you Geraldine!

This week was a very emotional one at Scoil Íosagáin , the week when we began to celebrate our school leavers before they move on to secondary school. There was great excitement, joy and happiness, but tinged with some sadness as we bid farewell to an absolutely wonderful group of children who contributed so much to our school. May God go with them in the next phase of their journey, and may they continue to show kindness, empathy and courage in their interactions with others. Thank you boys and girls! You've been a credit to yourselves and to your families. Our school is a better place for having had you with us. God bless. ❤️❤️❤️
