Kyle Park N.S Primary School St. While it is a school with a Catholic ethos, it also gives due recognition to children of other religious beliefs and none. At St. Patrick's N.S.

Patrick's N.S., Kyle Park is a school which strives to provide a caring, happy and secure learning environment where the intellectual, spiritual, physical, moral and cultural needs of our pupils are addressed. Kyle Park, we strive to help each individual pupil achieve his/her full potential and place a high emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy as a means of reaching this goal. We work in partnership

with parents and the community to empower students to live in and contribute to a rapidly changing society and to act as responsible, independent children and later self-sufficient adults who care about others and their environment. Kyle Park Agricultural School was built by Thomas G. Stoney on his estate in Kyle Park in 1834. It was one of the first of its' kind in the British Isles. A skilled draughtsman himself, Thomas Stoney won a Silver Medal at the Exhibition of the Royal Agricultural Society in Dublin, for his design of Kyle Park Agricultural School. It was built to accomodate 80 boys and 50 girls, in two classrooms. Six acres of land were attached and the Senior boys received instruction in agriculture. It was used as an Agricultural School up to 1875. It continued to be used as a National School up until 1953 when it was replaced by our present school - Kyle Park N.S., just down the road. In 1999, both classrooms were extended to double their size, a tennis / basketball court was added and our car park was developed.

Sports Day this year was so much fun. A huge thanks to Reuben, the Parents Association and all the parents who joined us on the day. It was a fantastic day, that was so well organised. Many thanks also to Enda Hogan, the Sports Field Committee and Shannon Rovers GAA for letting us use their fantastic facility.

Friday was a very important day in school. Our community Defibrillator was installed and set up. It's all thanks to the fundraising led by Ms Collison and the Wellbeing Committee and so well supported by our school community. Many thanks to Powerhouse Electrical Services and to Darren and David for ensuring the defibrillator is ready for use by all. Many thanks again to everyone who supported us.

Rang 3 - 6 hosted a fantastic EU Day last week, to celebrate their participation in the Blue Star Programme. The programme teaches children about European cultures and the EU through projects, speakers and other activities across the curriculum. We learned too, from their presentations, interactive EU games and being introduced to foods from all over the EU. Well done to Ms Seymour and all the crew on the hard work.

There was great excitement today, when we received a visit from Tipperary Senior Camogie goalie, Laura Leenane, who is also a member of Shannon Rovers. She brought with her the Munster Senior Camogie cup! What an honour for the children to see someone from their locality doing so well. It's a great reminder that persistence and hard work do pay off.
Many thanks to Laura, Gillian and John for coming to see us. We hope you enjoyed the singing !

We don't need to leave school to have a fun filled activity day. Not when you can have an in- school Viking Dig and Circus Skills event. We even had a visit from the ice cream van!
