Hello all!
Welcome to Blackrock Youth Club (BYC)!
Our 2026/27 Registration Night will be held on Friday 11th September from 7.30pm to 9pm.
We operate every Friday night during school term time from 7.30pm to 9pm.
We look forward to welcoming back members from previous years and of course welcoming new members who are now in secondary school.
BYC is an inclusive, not for profit club and we operate under Youth Work Louth. Our mission is to provide a safe space for young people to meet face to face, socialise and have fun! Young people are of course permitted to use their mobile phones; however, we do encourage young people to keep their phones in their pocket if they can to be fully present, whether it is just chatting, playing games, listening to music and each other!
REGISTRATION
In order for your child to become a member of BYC you must fill in the Registration Form. The annual fee is €10 (plus €1 booking fee). There is a weekly €2 charge at the door and a tuck shop available every night. Unfortunately we do not have card facilities. All the money collected goes back into BYC to fund the day to day expenses of running a youth club, activities and outings.
VOLUNTEERS
The team of volunteers and our enthusiastic Junior Leaders have lots of fun ideas for the year ahead. We are always looking for new volunteers to help us out (which would include supervising approx. every 4 to 5 weeks for 2 hours or whatever time you can give). If you would like to help out in any way please do get in touch.
CODE OF CONDUCT
In becoming a member of BYC it is expected that each young person will:
respect all members, volunteer leaders and equipment,
listen to the leaders,
be kind and include everyone; and
have fun!
In becoming a member of BYC it is expected that each young person will NOT:
use abusive language,
bully others,
engage in rough play or ruin games that others are playing,
break or damage equipment or furniture; and will not
smoke, v**e or drink alcohol in BYC.
Once the young person signs into BYC on a Friday evening, they are NOT permitted to leave the Community Centre before 9pm without a parent/guardian picking them up. Once 9pm comes they are free to leave.
