Hard luck to our Div 6 squad who narrowly lost 2-0 to Bandon in the Division 5/6 promotion/relegation playoff

What a match though, our girls brought energy, heart and some truly lovely hockey right up to the final whistle against a very strong Bandon side. Conceding just one goal from play is a testament to how well they fought, with brilliant teamwork and fantastic play up the field throughout. A massive well done to our POTMs Lucy and Emma C for their brilliant performances!

A disappointing end to what has been a brilliant season for this squad but they are already looking forward to next season! πŸ™Œ

If you’re interested in joining next season, we’d love to hear from you! Send us a message here or drop us an email at [email protected] πŸ’œ

A huge well done to our Division 5 women gave absolutely everything in a brilliant Munster Cup Final against Clonakilty, but unfortunately were narrowly beaten 1-0.

It was a very exciting and very close match with two strong sides on the day. The girls can be incredibly proud of how they performed, not just on Sunday but throughout the entire Div 5 cup with huge work rate, determination and pulling together as a team πŸ’ͺ Bug thanks to Coach Des for all his effort too!

A huge thank you to all the supporters who came out to Garryduff to get behind the girls, it meant so much to the squad.

Well done ladies πŸ’œπŸ’œ

Huge well done to all the girls who travelled all the way to Limerick for the final against Limerick HC. Led out by Captain Aimee, the girls started strong securing 4 goals against a fierce Limerick squad in the first half and then defended their lead until the final whistle not without scoring a fifth goal to finish with a final score 5-0. πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Huge congrats to POTM Miriam for unbelievable defence and Emma for super delivery of the ball into our attacking forwards.

A big thanks to our supporters who travelled from all over, it was so appreciated!

🌟 WEEKEND RESULTS 🌟
Div 6 were away to Midleton on Saturday for the reverse fixture of the Munster League. The girls were determined to even the score against a strong Midleton who led 2-0 at halftime. The team worked the ball up the field displaying some lovely hockey finishing up with Captain Aimee sending the ball into goals. The girls were met with a near full team defence by the other side when attacking and unfortunately following a goal from a short corner Midleton finished the game 4-1. However despite the sun the girls were working extremely hard especially players of the match Kate and Emma N who performed some incredible saves and defence all across the field! πŸ‘ The girls remain at second place in the table with a 10 point lead over 3rd place πŸ’ͺ🏻

With lots of change in positions, Div 2 lined out ready for Belvedere on Saturday. Following a great team effort and flow of passing, Marina Dwyer took the ball along the end line and passed into Sarah Dorney who put it in the back of the net. In the second quarter, Ann Marie O’Connell followed Coach Paidi’s instructions for the next short corner and a strike from the top of the circle got us our second goal. Belvedere put us under pressure in the second half but with a solid back line and some great saves from Meadhbh Lynch, we kept it to 2-0 and were delighted to come away with another three points on the table!

Huge well done also to our Div 5 squad who kitted out just 30 minutes after Div 2 in Clonakilty where everyone worked hard to support eachother and come away with a 3-0 Win πŸ‘ Huge well done to Emma C and Margie on their POTM performances. With lots of lovely 2v1s and passages of play throughout the match, everyone gave it 110% with special mention Aimee, Kate, Emma C, Sinead and Clodagh! Congrats Div 5 πŸ₯³

Well done to all this weekend πŸ’œ

Div 2 played Ashton in the first round of the Examiner cup. Going 1-0 up in the third quarter, the girls put in a great defence however Ashton levelled the game in the final 10 minutes. Superb play shown and very happy to come away with the point on the table. POTM were Laura Hogan and Lauren Mealy. πŸ’œ

The Division 5 ladies started their cup campaign with a 4-0 win against Bandon on Saturday. Despite the poor weather conditions, the girls fought as a unit and had some lovely passages of play. Congrats to the goal scorers Nell O’ Mahony, Chloe O’ Sullivan, Tina Harrington and Ciara Reynolds. A huge well done to POTMs Niamh Furlong and Chloe O’ Sullivan for their stand out performances! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Our Div 6 squad were out on Sunday versus Cork Wanderers in the next round of the Munster Division 6 League. Well done to all the girls for turning it around after Wanderers scored an early goal to finish the match with a superb 2-1 win. Congrats to our goal scorers Úna and POTM Rachel πŸ’œ

Special mention to our club MVP of the weekend, Laura Hogan who got the goal and POTM for the Div 2 match and then stayed on the pitch in the lashing rain to umpire the Div 5 match, a true club woman!! πŸ’ͺ🏻
