🥈🇮🇪 ALL IRELAND SCHOOLS SILVER MEDALLIST 🇮🇪🥈

A huge congratulations to Adaora Nnaemeka of St Brogan's College, Bandon, Co. Cork and Bandon AC, who produced another outstanding performance to claim silver medal honours in the Inter Girls 100m at the 123.ie Irish Schools Track & Field Championships in Tullamore on Saturday.

Adaora sprinted to a superb 12.21 seconds to secure the national silver medal, finishing second in one of the most competitive sprint events of the championships. Competing against the very best schoolgirl sprinters in Ireland, she once again demonstrated the speed, consistency and competitive spirit that have become her trademark.

Not content with one outstanding performance, Adaora returned to the track later in the day to finish an excellent 4th place in the Inter Girls 200m, clocking 25.62 seconds and narrowly missing out on a second national medal.

To stand on the podium at the Irish Schools Championships is a tremendous achievement and reflects the dedication, hard work and commitment Adaora continues to show throughout the season.

Congratulations also to her coaches, family, teachers and teammates who have supported her journey every step of the way.

Students from the Arts Council, Ms. Waugh’s and Ms. Cahalane’s 4th Classes, along with Ms. Wall’s and Ms. Murphy’s class, recently enjoyed an unforgettable trip to the Joseph Walsh Art Studio.

This was an amazing opportunity for the pupils, who were given a private tour of the workshops where they got to see master craftsmen at work. The children were fascinated to discover how Joseph Walsh’s beautiful furniture is created — from the initial design stage right through to the finished piece.

Afterwards, the pupils explored several outdoor art installations, including a striking stone vessel and an outdoor amphitheatre. The day was filled with creativity, learning, and inspiration as the students discovered more about art, design, and craftsmanship.

The pupils were especially inspired by Joseph Walsh’s innovative use of wood to create exquisite furniture and sculptures. Back at school, they used this inspiration to create their own sketch drawings of sculptures and furniture designs.

A wonderful day was had by all!
