🎨✨ KIDS ART CLASSES ARE BACK! ✨🎨

Following lots of enquiries from both past and new families, we're delighted to announce that our Kids Art Classes for ages 5–11 are returning to Leitrim School of Art at The Junction, Ballinamore!

And this year we're doing things a little differently…

🌟 NEW 4-WEEK FORMAT 🌟

Rather than individual drop-in sessions, children now have the opportunity to attend a 4-week programme, giving them more structure and continuity and allowing them to develop their skills and creative ideas over several sessions.

And don't worry if they can't make every week! ❤️

👉 Miss a class? You don't lose it.
👉 Missed classes can be carried over to the following 4-week block.

👩‍🎨 And your child will be learning with Denise Corbett — an experienced professional artist and Registered Art Teacher with the Teaching Council of Ireland, with many years' experience teaching children of all ages.

Classes take place in our proper, purpose-built and fully equipped art studio, where children can explore painting, drawing, pottery painting, sculpture, animation, mixed media and lots more.

✨ CREATE YOUR OWN STAINED GLASS! ✨
Ever fancied trying stained glass? Now’s your chance! 🌈
Join talented glass artist Emer O’Donnell for a relaxed, hands-on One-Day Stained Glass Workshop on Saturday 19th September at Leitrim School of Art, Ballinamore.

Using the Tiffany copper foil technique, Emer will guide you through cutting, shaping, foiling and soldering — and, importantly, you get to develop and create your own design rather than simply choosing from a set of templates.

🎨 Complete beginners are very welcome
👩‍🎨 Expert, friendly guidance from Emer
🌈 Choose your own colours, shapes and design
🖼️ Create a unique stained glass piece to take home
☕ Free tea, coffee & biscuits throughout the day

Emer will allow a little flexibility at the end of the day where needed, so participants have the opportunity to complete their piece without feeling rushed.

🧺 NEW AT LEITRIM SCHOOL OF ART – MAKE YOUR OWN TRADITIONAL IRISH WILLOW SKIB! 🌿

Looking for something a little different?

On Sunday 6th September, join experienced basket maker Kate Burrows for a relaxed, hands-on day learning the traditional craft of skib weaving.

Once a familiar part of rural Irish life, the skib was traditionally used during the potato harvest. Now you can learn the skills behind this distinctive basket and make your very own skib from natural, locally grown willow.

✨ No previous basket-weaving experience needed.

You'll learn how to:

🧺 Work with natural willow
🌿 Build and shape your skib
🧺 Create and finish the rim
✨ Discover the history behind this traditional Irish craft
🧺 Take home the skib you have made yourself

Ready to move beyond Auto mode? Spend the day with experienced photographer Catherine O’Hara and learn how to take control of your camera, exploring manual settings, exposure, composition, lighting and more. Perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to refresh their photography skills.

🎨 **PAINTING — Saturday 29 August**
Spend a creative day with acclaimed artist and tutor Cormac O’Leary. Whether you're a complete beginner or a more experienced painter, Cormac will help you develop your skills and create your own artwork, with the opportunity to explore acrylic, watercolour or oil and subjects ranging from landscapes to portraits and still life.

🏺 **ONE-DAY CERAMICS — Sunday 30 August**
Get your hands into the clay and create something of your own! Learn hand-building techniques including slab building, pinching, coiling and moulding in a relaxed, friendly workshop. No experience needed — and **lunch is included**.
