🏗️ And we’re officially underway! 🎉

S.N. Dhumha Thuama is absolutely delighted to share that ground has officially been broken on our new MUGA pitch today! 🙌

After all of the fundraising, planning and the huge amount of work behind the scenes, it is fantastic to finally see the machinery on site and the work beginning. What was talked about and planned for so long is now becoming a reality!

This project simply wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible efforts of our Parents’ Association, our school and our wider local community. Every fundraiser supported, every ticket bought, every donation made and every helping hand along the way has brought us to this point. ❤️

We are hopeful that, all going to plan, the MUGA will be completed within the next two months and we cannot wait to see our pupils and the local community enjoying it.

For now, though, we’re just delighted to say…

The work has started! 🥳🚜

What a day! ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Community Sports Day today. Despite the little bit of rain, it certainly didn't dampen the spirits! It was fantastic to see so many families enjoying the day, with children taking part in race after race, medals being won, inflatables keeping everyone entertained, and plenty of smiles from start to finish.

To everyone who sponsored races, donated prizes, Mocha Beans for the coffee, Tea and treats, or anyone who contributed in any way, no matter how big or small, thank you. Your generosity is what makes days like this possible, and we are incredibly grateful for your support.

A very special thank you goes to our wonderful teachers and parents who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to organise the day and ensure everything ran so smoothly. Events like this simply couldn't happen without your dedication and teamwork.

And of course... our legendary donkey jockeys!

🫏👏 A massive thank you to Anna, Kevin, Richie, Pa**ie, Mary and Keith for throwing themselves into the fun and taking on the donkey derby. You braved the challenging conditions on the track with great humour and helped create one of the highlights of the day. Thank you for being such great sports and for doing it all for the craic!

A big thank you also to Martin, our fantastic MC, who kept the laughs coming and the day running smoothly, and to the food truck from crossmolina who kept everyone well fed with delicious food and pancakes throughout the afternoon.

Most importantly, thank you to every single person who came along and supported the day. Your support means the world to us.

Here's to another fantastic Sports Day! Please God, we'll be back again on the August Bank Holiday Sunday 2027, so put the date in your diaries now! 🎉

🎉 The countdown is on to S.N. Dhumha Thuama's Annual Lá Spóirt! 🎉

Looking for a fantastic day out this August Bank Holiday weekend? Join us at The Banks, Doohoma on Sunday, 2nd August for a day packed with free family fun!

🏃‍♀️ Take part in our traditional races and novelty events throughout the day.

🥔 Try your hand at potato picking.

👢 Test your strength in the welly throwing competition.

🎯 Enjoy our inflatable challenge games, including axe throwing, basketball and giant darts.
