𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐀?

Ta**ra is use in many different traditions. Original root of ta**ra come from Vedic tradition. The word ta**ra found in Rig Veda to the Atharva Veda and then later it continued till the real ta***ic came to its existence. The ta**ra is also found in Buddhism, especially in Tibetan Buddhism which is called Ta***ic Buddhism or also called Vajrayana tradition. It also found in bound tradition. Late, it propagated in Jainism, Shintoism, and Daoism.

𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒚, Ta**ra means " Framework, System, Method, Principal or Techniques, Doctrine, Theory, Scripture, Rule or System of Practice, Authority, Fabric, Model, Spell, Continuity or Scientific Work.

𝑬𝒕𝒚𝒎𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍, Ta**ra is made two words Tan and Tra.
Tan came from the word Tanoti which means to weave, to expand, to spread, or to stretch. Tra came from the word Trayati which means to liberate, to free, to save, or an instrument. Thus, Ta**ra means "An instrument (Tra) for an expansion (Tan) or to expand (Tan) one’s experience to attain liberation (Tra)"

Kamika-Ta**ra text defined why it is called Ta**ra:
“Because it expands (tan) on copious and profound matters especially relating to principles of reality (tattvas) and mantras, because it provides liberation(tra) from the cycle of suffering, it is called Ta**ra.”

In Yoga, unless it is done with complete faith, we will not reap any fruit. Unless effort is put in systematically till the end, results will not be proportionate, nor will it fructify. If we do not undertake Yoga practices in a methodical manner, considering stipulated time of day, stipulated place and correct duration of practice, in a whole hearted manner (nistha), we will not get the results laid down.

It is possible that one gets the results in other disciplines only towards the end, but this is not the case in Yoga practice. In Yoga, we start to get benefits to the extent we have practiced. By undertaking only 𝘈𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘢 practices, we can get strength in the body. By practicing 𝘠𝘢𝘮𝘢, we develop compassion towards all living beings (bhuta-daya). Through 𝘗𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘺𝘢𝘮𝘢, we get perfect health, longevity and other related benefits.

Only when all mental activities cease, will the pure mind become steady. Till that steadiness is obtained, we may not get any benefit out of Yoga practice. It is also true that till the mind's steadiness is well established, the time spent on Yoga practices is without any perceivable result or profit.

We should not expect immediate beneficial results when practicing Yoga, worshipping God (Deva-puja), performing evening and morning rituals (Sandhya-vandana), repeating the Lord's name (mantra-japa) etc., in the manner of an hourly paid worker who expects his wages at the end of each hour of his work.
We should not worry about the time spent, nor assess it on a monetary basis. Once such thoughts are entertained, we sink low in moral and spiritual standards.

𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

There are two types of meditation: 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 and 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦.

Active meditation is that which occurs when one performs one's daily duties, when one walks, talks, eats and so on. This in fact is the aim of yoga, to allow one to meditate while being involved in worldly activities. It does not mean that the activities will not be done, or not done with enthusiasm. In fact the work or external activities will be performed with more efficiency and energy. Active meditation can be developed by performing the passive meditational practices and by developing one's self-identity, as well as perfecting the techniques of karma and bhakti yoga.

Passive meditation is the aim of sitting in one pose and performing a meditational practice such as Ajapa Japa, Nada Yoga, Yoga Nidra, etc. Its aim is to still the ever restless and wandering mind and make it one-pointed, so that meditational experience will automatically follow.

𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢 𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗔 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗨𝗝𝗔 𝗜𝗡 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗛𝗢𝗠𝗘?

Puja means “to make an offering to the Divine with a show of respect.” This usually takes the form of a special ceremony at a Hindu temple, or it can take place in the comfort of your own home.

𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗿
To create your own daily puja, you'll first need to make a personal altar. Creating an altar is a great way to really discipline your daily sadhana, or personal practice.
The altar gives you a concrete and visual place to go and be with Spirit. Having an altar can support your daily meditation practice. It can give you a place to pray, set intentions for your life, and connect to the Divine — within you and without.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗿?
✅First you need a little space in your house. You just need a designated space that holds the space for your puja.
✅Next you need a small table.
✅Decorate
Finally, you'll need a beautiful silk in a color that resonates with your soul at the moment. Cover your table with this lovely silk material in a fashion that is a feast for your eyes.
✅Do you have a favorite flower? Orchids last for months and complement an altar rather beautifully.
✅Many people like to string their altars with garlands, bells or even little white lights. You can get festive here, treating it like a ceremony of Spirit.
✅If you have a set or two of mala beads, lay them on your altar.
✅If you have a meditation cushion, leave it resting in front of your altar.
✅Choose a God, Goddess and/or Guru
You can purchase little postcards and images of your chosen Hindu deity or deities online or in Indian grocery stores. If you have a guru or saint you’re devoted to, you’ll want to put a framed picture of him or her on or above your altar.
If you choose a god or goddess to center your altar around, you may want to do some research. Different colors are linked to different gods and goddesses, as are certain mantras, days of the week, months, planets, scents and flowers.
✅Bring Offerings
Offerings are another aspect of a puja, and each god and goddess prefers different fruits, vegetables, sweets, spices.
Let your heart guide you as you create your very own puja.
