What did you stop
that you actually miss?
Have you ever found something you loved — stopped — started again — and stopped again?
Who has memories sitting on their phone that were never shared. Moments that were so alive — and then just — because something happened - or disappeared on your phone & in real life. A part of me doesn’t want them to disappear into the cloud with a thousand other memories
I’ll never find again. So I just felt the pull to share this one.
So yes, there are moments you will never forget no matter if good or bad!
You find something that makes you feel so alive & feel all kind of things, which can be so good, so healing & more.
You get obsessed.
You make it part of your identity.
our purpose. Your whole life.
Your schedule is built around it.
Your social life. Your travel. Your everything.
And then — things happen.
For me it was a combination of things.
A nervous system crash.
Too much overstimulation.
The crazy highs. The devastating lows.
The emotional rollercoaster that partner dance can be when you’re sensitive.
And then the things that happened on the dancefloor which don’t belong there with people who are strangers for me.
With professionals, who are in the scene for a very long time and with complete beginners too.
I mean, I know we are all humans.
But we are also all grown ups!!
And some things, some behaviors, some boundary crossings, some dynamics - simply don’t belong in a space that is supposed to be about dancing only, consent, and shared joy.
So I stopped.
Not because I fell out of love with dance.
Not because the magic wasn’t real.
Because my nervous system needed to protect itself.
Because I needed a safe place more than I needed a dancefloor.
Let’s see if life brings me back again with my whole heart & love for this dance.
Do you know this cycle?
Something you loved — stopped — started — stopped again?
I know I’m not alone in this!
And I want you to feel less alone, that’s why I’m sharing this.
