It took me a while to realize, but...

if I now have time to play every day, why am I not back to creating content?

And so, this came up.

The struggle to keep posting is real.

Procrastination is a severe condition and must be dealt with immediately as possible, before it affects your daily routines and creates new routines where you don't do much (or nothing at all).

A great example to take care of that is to change your mindset.

If you have time to doomscroll until you brainrot, you should have time to create new content.
If you have time to look at gyatt, you should have time to refine your craft in various fields.
If you can make time to do your dailies in HSR (or any game you could name), you should make time for finding new projects and working on them.

A simple change of mindset, yet a complex thing to do.

Back to the topic, I decided to share a bit of what I've been working on for my Behance portfolios: my skillset! I guess this is the literal meaning of picking someone's brain.

2023 wasn't only about clients; I did some fun design projects as well.

Back when I was still an administrative assistant at my campus, I was asked to create a poster for campus dress code ethics. And I was told to add anything I want.

And I took that seriously.

Almost everyone at my campus loved Genshin, so I decided to use that on the main design coz why not?

For the men, you cannot go shirtless like Cyno or Itto. You cannot wear shorts like Xingqiu and stockings like Venti. And you cannot wear sandals like Heizou.

For the women, no sleeveless shirts like Yelan (I don't mind tho if it's Yelan, sorry), and tank tops like Nilou (once again, I wouldn't mind, sorry). No shorts like Hu Tao or Amber. No sandals like Yae. And don't even think of not wearing anything below like Nahida.

I also made a nice roll-up banner (or was it an X-banner?) to use whenever my group graduates so we can take a photo together for the sake of the memories. Next month will be the last photo (you got this bro) we take with this banner!

Man I miss the old ages of Twitter, tho I don't really use it that much.

Now what I'm trying to say here, you don't need to have clients to create your portfolio; just create random s**t (and make sure it looks good and you like it), post it and you got yourself free portfolio!

The next time someone says you need to have clients to be able to create your portfolio, show them this post coz these weren't client works but passion projects.

I got scammed so you don't have to.

I wasn't lying when I said I made 5 logos in 2 days.

Despite not getting paid from that project, it was a good exercise for me who didn't do logo designing in a while, while also can be a good addition to my portfolio.

There's always a positive side in every downside!

Never get greedy. NEVER. 😁

A little context for the next part: the client asked me to work on 5 new restaurant logos in 2 days, with a promised compensation of $1500 USD.

It was too good to be true, but I decided to use their brief as warm-up after my short hiatus from logo designing.

And it was possible, I managed to create 5 new brands in a day!

Even if it was a scam after all, at least I got new portfolios and I never gave them the final files (they even were against the idea of doing down-payments, which made it even more sus).
