As you get better, going up the ladder in competency takes longer to see improvement. It’s easier to see the gain in skill when you are just starting to learn. It’s harder and takes longer to see improvement once you get past the basic level. The higher your skill level, the harder it is to see, and it takes longer to get to that next skill level.

You are reaching a new level—and one of those signs in reaching that new level of competency is, ironically, thinking you suck, but you don’t. So keep trying.
