Indonesia’s Independence Day brought our Senior School students into a day of spirited challenges, shared laughter, and friendly competition. Every game offered a chance to work together, cheer one another on, and discover that some victories are best enjoyed when no one stands alone.

As Indonesia celebrates 81 years of independence, we are reminded that freedom is more than something to enjoy. It is a gift to receive with gratitude and a responsibility to carry with wisdom.

May our students grow into a generation that uses its freedom well: choosing what is right, serving beyond themselves, caring for others, and using their gifts to bring goodness wherever they are placed.

Here’s to growing in gratitude, character, and purpose as we continue to contribute to the story of our nation.

For 81 years, Indonesia has carried forward a story shaped by courage, sacrifice, unity, and hope.

As the Red and White rose above us, the SDH Makassar community gathered to commemorate the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, embracing this year’s national theme: “Indonesia Berdaulat, Adil, dan Makmur” — A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.

Independence is not only a history to remember, but also a legacy to carry forward. The Indonesia we hope to see tomorrow will be shaped by a generation that chooses integrity, serves others, values unity amid diversity, and uses its knowledge and gifts for a greater purpose.

May education continues to nurture young people who are ready to take their part in building a sovereign, just, and prosperous Indonesia, and, above all, to become a blessing to this nation.

Melalui keseruan Independence Day Culminating Activity, seluruh komunitas diajak merenungkan tema: "Hidup dalam Kristus, Berdampak bagi Sesama".

Ada rasa syukur atas kemerdekaan yang hendaknya diwujudkan dengan saling mengasihi, menolong, dan menjadi berkat bagi Indonesia tercinta!
