KPMG awards ACA training contract to BPP
KPMG LLP announces that it has awarded BPP Professional Education the contract to deliver the firm’s national ACA training programme, commencing in autumn 2013. The award follows a robust and challenging tender process.
Michael Walby, Director of Professional Qualification Training at KPMG said: “KPMG’s ambition is to be the expert in professional qualification training, and this appointment is a part of that strategy. The launch of our ground breaking School Leaver Programme in 2011 demonstrated KPMG’s ability to change the landscape of accountancy training in the UK. BPP demonstrated a similar forward thinking approach and we look forward to sharing our exciting plans with the next generation of KPMG trainees.”
Martin Taylor, CEO of Professional Qualifications at BPP said: “This is an extremely proud moment for BPP. It is recognition of the innovative work BPP is currently undertaking in delivering new solutions to this marketplace. KPMG’s ambition to challenge the status quo for accountancy training is shared by BPP and we look forward to a long and successful partnership over the coming years.”
KPMG currently supports over 1,400 trainees studying for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW) ACA qualification in 19 offices throughout the UK. Professional qualification training provides the basis upon which accountancy trainees build a sustainable career in the profession. KPMG is proud of the outstanding performance of its ACA trainees in their professional examinations. First attempt ACA pass rates repeatedly exceed 90% which is significantly above the industry average.
Recruitment of the first ACA intake under this contract will commence in July 2012. KPMG will continue to work with its current ACA Training Provider, Kaplan Financial, to deliver training for its existing ACA trainees and those trainees who will be joining KPMG in autumn 2012. KPMG remains committed to its relationship with Kaplan and is confident that they will continue to deliver the excellent pass rates they have in recent years.
